There ya go, it's all just a beat up, don't worry you can fly your beloved kites still on cott beach and take your glass lunchboxes down there with your 50m2 beach shades . so who is going to join the facepalm group down there tommorrow with their placards and 11 man tea parties ?

This is the exact kind of thing that has gone down in european countries where there is way less freedom than aussie.

Starts out stupid little bylaws that everyone says no one will enforce then more and more and more - taken more and more seriously by paid enforcers - it simply becomes a business - and good businesses grow - ends up money vs freedom. One that even councillors are part of being paid for.

I don't think it helps saying "the kind of people that go there" whatsoever. They are out for a good time too. Sames rules for everyone. If the place has statistically more crime, put more police there, do a capaign or whatever - settle it down. If not, stop harassing the mostly young people that enjoy going to this place.

I think it is discrimination.
