I wish someone could post pics of the waves at Cottesloe on Saturday, that was huge!!
I friggen had 3 hours out there and cut to the chase, I was separated from my kite and it death rolled towards dutchies groin and land on it in waist deep water passing 4 kiters standing on the beach and just watching it NO attempt to save it and basically shredded it!

hi plummet

cheers for the google map link - nothing like a scan over all the epic kite spots that can be mentally reviewed from way above.

question for you or other NZ kiters - has Golden Bay / Farewell Spit been kited? looks incredible on the satellite, understand if the topography is not really shown up properly and the spot is unreachable though. very similar to some of the set ups in WAs north west from a quick eyeball, anyhow, just curious, cheers.

will try to rustle a pic off bro's GF, but kited a south west beachie on sunday that was the biggest i've ever seen it. outer bombies 2km out in deep water where i had never seen waves break before. luckily the winds had backed off to 25kn from the brown arrows the day before, and me and a mate were the only guys out. can we update the graphs with brown swell height marks as well when it is like that? only got out the back a couple of times, probably should have put straps on but was having too much fun blasting around the inside flats. my mate got a few solid ones though.

anyone side/side off at any of the points on the south coast sunday?
amazing weekend of weather all round...

I was at the playground with my daughter watching you struggle to relaunch. The kite looked ok until you let it go - should have stayed attached and washed in shore and you would have been fine. But you probably couldn't tell from your view!

Sorry I couldn't help - an 18 month old and dutchies groin don't mix.

I wouldn't mind seeing the next frames after that though, as the body position and board direction suggest two different things...

Ha ha a mate of mine (very good rider) had his first go on 7m edge in big winds and swell. He was blubbering incoherently when he came in.

Classic!!!
