I'd say the wave tips the kite on its edge and wind flicks her up.
Wave breaks just the other side of rider
My cup is half full.
The kite did make it over the wave but poor old mal then got dragged straight down wind of his kite by the white water.
Bombie here we come!
The lesson in this is to not lift a dinghy onto a boat trailer 2 days before a 4.5m swell hits.
Result - Bulging inflamed disc and an inability to walk, hence the long lonely painful drive back to Perth last Friday when this swell rocked in!!!!
SPEWING!!!
Waaaahhhhhhh!
Sometimes I marvel at my own stupidity.
this was saturday, not to sure what happened sunday as the wind didn't look promising so took off back home and no it wasn't scabs although there were a few with scabs on many of the windsurfers back in the camp ground.
Been held down surfing that wave on a much much smaller day, can't imagine what that would do to ya! Missed that big day, spewin!! Fast wave man.
Hey that shot in the barrel was that you man! Just a god damn awesome photo man gotta getvthat baby blown up and framed. Just love it.
Nah it's totally apt'. Windsurfer going up and back not doing a whole lot and a turtlehunter deep in a barrel.
Yeh man got same problem. I nearly had them scrapped a few years back and never did. Gotts keep my legs real straight, if i put weight over the front of the left ankle it screams. Gonna see the season out, then get it done in mar/apr and hopefully be kiting/surfing in winter.
Crap hey!! Who was that dude anyhow? Just awesome. Don't change it man, it is what it is, the old and the new.
nice work scotty, looks like a good trip down there. does this mean mal is exempt from the princess award this season?
at least you managed to get a couple- i broke my arm the day before i went to that spot and had to watch from the rocks the whole time
Mal ain't no princess stamp he's just becoming a wave snob.
I don't think size has anything to do with it gazza more the fact saturday the lighter wind gave the kites the upper hand. Friday I spent more time tacking out to the horizon and coming in the swell was too fast for most to stay on the same swell. You come into the line up and theres 2 or 3 windsurfers (and kiters) stalling to get on the next swell coming in. All good but it got pretty frustrating going in and out just pounding the ankle till I couldn't stand any more.
