Agree NSWSailor. I was thinking of the nor'easter building a sea and getting there at the wrong time. I have surfed it on the ebb tide, it would have been impossible in a yacht.
Steve got a bit of fuel and left about noon with a FOOD parcel for BlueMoon!!
Should be there now.
What, did Shaun leave his tucker behind? With a full set of sails up, Starlight Express will run down Hansel II in a day. It's a pretty fast boat.
With westerlies of some sort predicted all week, it looks like they'll all be powering up to Southport! Sad I'm missing out on the Coffs to Goldy leg.
You guys sound like you are having a fat old time coming up the coast.
We really would have enjoyed company and fairer winds when we brought Second Wind up.
If I am ever down that way again I will make a point of visiting Broughton Island, Foster Tuncurrie, Camden Haven and Trial Bay.
If any of you are coming into Bundaberg make sure you give me a heads up. I will be waiting on the dock to take your lines.
No Mike,
In fact that CAKE tin could contain MORE food than what Shaun feed me with on the Port Stephens Camden Haven leg.
And before anybody asks...its a normal size cake tin.
PS See post on "Crew or other people on your yacht "

Really? He didn't feed you well? Wow, I got fed plenty on that trip. Hot curries, corned beef and mash. Red licorice and lots of chocolate. Put on a kilo in two days!
Looks like the fleet has left for Coffs.
Not a great photo, hopefully he'll send another better quality one.
The ketch is Misty Blue with William skippering, and a shoal draft Top Hat Hansell II with Shaun (Blue Moon) at the helm. Shaun's moving Hansel to the Gold Coast for a friend.

Mike,
I have banned corned beef from Seaka. Last time I had some I stunk of corned beef for a week, all the other tins I had were disposed of!
No wonder Shaun had no food you ate it all! What chocolate?
Oh I didn't realize there was a problem with the catering onboard? ?
Lexmark on the left, martzcraft 35 on the right and a cat that over took the fleet. Photo just nth of Port Macquarie.
Still in Coffs, strong N wind currently
Oh I didn't realize there was a problem with the catering onboard? ?
My wife likes to take chocolate intravenously but still likes to have it solid occasionally. I won't show her that photo. I wan't to keep her at home.
Opposite, I show my wife to see how to supply me next time.
That's good catering .
Beer, slice of bread and what's on the pic.
Happy with simple combination.
No problem from my point of view Shaun... Never went hungry. Phil, you just have to ask, or maybe Shaun thought you looked fat enough.
Stay put gents, it's cold, rainy and very, very windy here tonight. Hopefully tomorrow/Friday will be back to clear crisp westerlies. Peeved I couldn't join you for the next leg or two!
Noce photos of the fleet too!

That's not FOOD, or maybe the apple just qualifies!
The apples are from the cold storage of one of the large supermarket chains so are probably 12 months old... So they would not qualify!
Anyway the flotilla did stay put last night, still at Coffs, looking at a departure tonight
What ever happens in the rest of my life, this sailing trip will never be forgotten, and not every body drinks beer, it just so happens that I prefer wine :)
Here is that phtoo you asked me to post up Steve. Curious about your comment on Bornfree bot being so free?
Bornfree s phone is not working after he went a over t in the dinghy, so I am posting this from him,
Bornfree said " yeah, I ran aground from laughing so much watching you run up onto the rocks Steve "
Hi Just a quick update on my trip, have not planned the timing correct, unrealistic, so have decided to continue to head north for about 4 weeks and then look around to see about putting her up on the dry until about mid October then sail her back to Vic, any members who have any ideas as to where to leave her, would be a help, but so far the sailing trip has been great
Thanks
I just think that she is safer than on a mooring where I would need some one to checker on her, your thoughts ????
was thinking Tin Can Marina ??
Mooring is safer from the bandits. On the hard its easier for thieves to knock off stuff like folding propellers etc. Years ago I spent a week sailing a regatta at the Royal Queensland yacht club in Manly. It was windy all week but the night we left a few roofs come off houses and all the boats [Etchells] blew over on the hardstanding and the vessel on the mobile lift was also damaged. Qld can be very windy, not the nice weather you get in Victoria.
Hi Well laying at Yamba at present, thought about going on high tide, but its a 20hr stint, with fresh north at the end, so decided to leave it until tomorrow, its true, got through the bar ok, had a locial leading my self and Bornfree, I should have been studying the plotter, hit a large rock 100 m in, she went up in the air then layed over, with the tide pushing her down, but the tide also pushed her off, went and changed my undies.
The only times that I have gotten into trouble is when I havnt followed the plotter, must be a lesson there some where !!
Lexmark
Hi Lexmark , careful about too much trust in plotter.
Anchoring happily in the middle of the little island. That's
how much they of the charts.
Talking about central QLD little islands.
Would be good idea check the charts for GPS correction.
.......
Just check my charts.....GPS position can be plotted directly ....
Well, charts build in plotter must be off. That's great. Have fun.
