got a little bit done had to help my partner do some house renos.
Roughed out the bed base and worked out the draws as far as what ill do in there Ill bring the center section home tomorrow and make up the slide for the table.
As well as cut the foam for the birth
Also use some loctite on the threads when refitting not only will it retain the bolts but also stop them justing up like poor old Morning Birds water pump in another thread
Just make it threadlock and not studlock or you will really be up that well known creek. In an emergency or because you are a tightwad then good old liquid paper can also be used as a threadlocker.
Hi HG. My pump bolts aren't seized, I just can't get at one of them due to the limited space. Still trying though. Part of the journey.

Some Allen keys have on the long end a ball so you can use it on a angle add a small pipe to the short end for leverage and you might crack it but make sure its well inside the socket head of the Allen key bolt
I've cut the short end shorter but no joy. I am now using the bit I cut off, about 1cm long, and will put a socket from a miniature socket set on it and see if I can get enough leverage. My next option will be to cut the long arm down to see if I can get it into a good position.
Thank you both for the suggestions.

I think your on the money now Morning Bird
HG. I got the Allen bolts out of the flywheel using the method you suggested. I left the top one in but very loose so the flywheel wouldn't
fall off onto my foot, however I couldn't pull the flywheel off. I even bribed my mate with a cup of coffee to give me a hand but with the two
of us pulling it wouldn't budge. I think we managed to get a slight looseness by trying to 'twist' it off but that was as far as we got.
So do I need to hire a puller and if so can I use the belt groove to locate the puller in. How did you get yours off HG.
All I have done over the long weekend is added the sighn writing!
thats a weekend well spent Southace. Looks fantastic
This is the rear cabin bulkheads being lifted into place for glueing into the hull assembly. This is after the infusion process. Rearward of this and yet to be fitted is a bulkhead to isolate the rudder posts in case of a hull breach from the rudders striking something. It is surprising how small the rudders are, they would probably measure less than 5 feet. I suppose them being smaller is an advantage of having dual rudders, I am hoping if I hit anything and shear one off I can always get home on the other one (as long as the tack takes me in the right direction!)
The foam filled chambers you can see are inbuilt into the bow and stern and both sides of the boat. It cuts down on stowage under the bunks, but according to the manufacturer this gives it a truly unsinkable capability, you could drill holes in the bottom and it wont sink.
Getting closer!
she is beautiful !

a couple of loose bolts just screwed in and a couple of large screw divers one either side and move them around the fly wheel and lever them bit by bit working around the circle Sam
even a gentle tap with a hammer against a block of wood to start it off would be Ok
yum freshly caught blue fin tuna steak on the fry pan does that count on what I did to my boat today?
Thanks HG. There's a cover behind the flywheel (which may be the scource of the leak - gasket??) Is it likely to be damaged (bent in) using levers like that?.
Yes a clout with a hammer might help, I was tempted to do that but I didn't have a lump of wood and I thought I might damage the teeth
so I resisted. What you are telling me is all good HG.
Its sitting on a short boss on the crank wriggle some and to start it off a tap with a block of wood and hammer and or levers wriggle
OK mate, thank you.
From memory fly wheel bolt torque is around 70 ft lbs
Just try to tension all the same when you reasseble plus some low strenght loctite
Who's coming for dinner?
Can I book for tow for Saturday night around 7.30 PM in Port Philip bay please
And while your here you can give my old table a make over
This is what you need , get the 7 cm I accidently brought the 5cm for my front cabin but the rear cabin is 7cm I brought that down of my old yacht. eBay is the place.

Ive cut some 4 inch foam that some one gave me, but Ive been looking at the 7 of 8 cm memory foam last night on E bay.
Ill use the foam for now as my boat dollars needed else where at the moment but will make a good one next year.
I laded down on it after Id cut it and fitted it in the V birth ,it seems comfy and big enough.
Ive bench tops draws and finish of the stove piping .
Ive been bending up a forward mount for the bow rails with a support for the anchor roller just out of mild steel to get it right then make the real one out of stainless
I pick up my bow rails tomorrow I hope there been electro plate at MME Seaford along with my front stay mount.
Not a good photo , Ive a bit of trimming to do yet
nice one HG ..........no sleeping on the job though !!! ...........

if you keep going the way you are , it wont be long before you can . you are going very well for progress from what ive seen .
whats the plan to rig and sail her a bit while you finish the internal ,or finish internals completely, then rig ??
Personally I would get her rigged and powered and finish the fit out while living aboard providing there's no grinding and sanding to be done.
also I would just cap the skin fittings forward and fill with fixtech 15 rather than glassI got them in. Would be much cheaper and convenient. But that's just my thoughts. Regards

I'm eyeing off September to put the masts back on.
Been thinking of running Driftwood around to Hastings and putting her on the hard for a couple of months once I've done a little more inside that way I can give her an anti foul and do the sea cocks . I've a coupe of small blisters I want to dry out and attack and maybe fit a PSS seal to the prop shaft.
Them motor her around in September and fit the masts at Williamstown
HG maybe consider yaringa instead of hastings , as the hard stand area is quite reasonable price wise . and you could even get a price from the riggers there for the mast and rigging work if needed . they are very good so i have heard .
