Finally got my new folding prop today. Thanks for all the advice from seabreezers
It turned out that Gori could not supply a left handed prop in the right size so I went with the varifold which was air freighted from the UK to a local supplier $1400 + GST.
I'm taking the boat out of the water next week to install it, the depth sounder and log as well as an anti foul. Hopefully it will all get done in 7 days on the hard.

Thats a great value meter Southace. Good question about what coating to apply to the prop. I was thinking Propspeed is the best, but apprantly that requires sanding the whole thing with 80 grit to key it. I would be interested to know if anyone thinks there is a better alternative to Propspeed.
Don, I thought the 2 blad was more streamlined than the 3 blade, but the overwhelming consideration was price. I wanted a folding over a feathering because they have less chance of catching debri and I couldn't find any folding 3 blades for under $3K.
I don't know about prop envy Shaggy but i do know its possible to have boat envy

It has been discussed on the forum before. Someone said that Cabots CFP works as well as Propspeed. I know it works bloody well on timber floors.
I have been hoping someone here had used it and would give a report on it's effectiveness. My prop has Propspeed on it at the moment but I will be trying CFP the next time it needs recoating.

Is one of the blades in the picture actually longer than the other? I used to access a mate's bead blaster in preparation for Propspeed or other prop antifoul. Does not remove any material and gets rid of mill finish/old coatings for good keying of new paint.
Cabots CFP is a good product, but not just on floors. It's great also for table tops and takes the knocks/scratches quite well. Not sure on props, but it may hold up underwater.
The Kubota engine on the Tug fired up today for the first time and runs sweet!

I have the same prop Andy. Mine is 15" by 10". I have Propspeed on it and I recommend it. It was done in October last before Lord Howe where we did about 60 hours on the motor. Probably has 70 hours now and she still gets 6.0 kts at high cruise revs. The prop hasn't been touched even for a wipe down in that time.
You do need to run the prop every few weeks to clean any slime off.
Hi Andy,I was the one who painted my prop with cfp that was at the end of march I have not had a dive on it yet to see if it is holding up .The engine still runs to the same rpm as before and boat speed is the same. My prop is the same as yours and when I cleaned it up before coating I reckon everyone in the mariner had been to have a look at it,with the same comments as fellow seabreezers.If you go the cfp path only put a light coat on it at a time,lightly sand and keep recoating 4-5 coats. You will need to keep turning the prop while it is drying as the product is very runny.Dont forget to get the hardener with it when you purchase the cfp.My friend was impressed with the finished job and we were going to do his prop this weekend but the weather forecast does not look good and we wont be able to have another go for 2-3 weeks.I will take photos then and post em up.

I wasn't aware that there is a hardener for CFP. We are talking about the same product aren't we?? That is Cabots CFP which is a water based clear finish designed for timber floors.
Cool runnings both blades are the same size
Might do some more investigations on the cabots but it seems everyone is pretty happy with propspeed
MB mine is a 17x12 on 3 to 1 reduction what with a 24 hp motor quite a difference in props hey
Cisco, There is a hardener for the cfp I purchased mine from the big green shed for CFP & hardener It was about seventy dollars. There will be enough to do about ten props with it.

Thats a good idea to buy a second hand Bukh. I saw one for 2 grand a while ago and was thinking of doing the same thing.
I jyust felt im getting the lasest bukh a d its easy up date
Ill use my dv20 gear box as the DV 24 has a failed sail drive gearbox thr legs ok and thr motor is fine
Doing this way i get. A good 6 months to give it a minor rebuild and fit it next winter
Im buying a dometic portable head for now so i can sail this summer

Heres a couple of better photo of my next year job around easter refurbishing the DV24 Pistons / Cylinders and ring big end bearing gasket set and a top end overhaul.
Ill haul the boat out next winter around Hasting , I was going there this year but Ill wait it out and fit the masts in the spring and go sailing this coming season

One is a pressure relief valve ( similar to a pressure cooker valve) 2 gauge 3 hand pump inlet to pressurize the tank 4 tank to stove fuel line
One fitted has a non return valve which I am assuming goes to the pump so pressurized air can return to the pump
I need to clean those two jets Ive a couple of stainless elbows to fit for the tank l;level and need to buy some clear tubing for the tank level.
When some silly bloke stops buying stuff , I might be able to buy some new burners for the Taylor stove 
a little worried about an Irish Packed liferaft.................hahaha

I too went shopping for my boat today.
Considering I am not going to be sailing outside Moreton Bay for a little while, decided not to get a boat EPIRB. However, will be sailing alone quite often, so thought it prudent and purchased a personal EPIRB.
Also, jacklines, flares, V-sheet, fire extinguisher, and a few other bits and pieces.
All things being equal, mast goes back in this weekend and I should be sailing next week
