Wasn't much wind but worth going out just to get the main out of the bag and dry it out and stop it going green again. I keep a spray bottle of "wet and forget" on board now so I can squirt on spots that start looking green as we hoist.
Will that stuff get rid of other stains on the sails like marks from the boom etc?
Airlie Beach
Well not today, but past couple of weeks from Lake Macquarie.
Very great full that a mate came up for the trip.

I don't think so, just mold, it didn't completely remove some very old staining on my sails but massive improvement and gets rid of new mold that has started.

Arrived in Pittwater last evening after sailing up from Wilson's Promontory, just under four & a half days in a Heavenly Twins Cat. Conditions varied from 35kt winds & 4mtr waves to windless, calm seas (Ya the iron sail!). It was a valuable orientation for the new owner A great trip and the boat performed well. Offloaded final gear onto my Arends and the new owner headed off happily.
Another morning in the Whitsundays
Trade winds backed off a little last night
Beats the hell out of sailing around the lake. Mind you sailing around the lake beats sitting at home watching the rain or doing work on the boat. How long are you up there for?

Cat to mono. What prompted the choice? Most people are going the other way these days.

Seems expensive? Is it available in small spray bottles anywhere because I am horrified to see that my new main has already got some mould spots on it from all the rain.
Bit of a foggy start on Lake Mac this morning!!
I took advantage of a windless morning to change the rigging for the stay sail & found mould on it - hasn't been out in a while

They're awesome pictures Lazz, thanks very much. That top one jumped off the page. Very cool mate.
Out behind Mud Island in Moreton Bay in a fresh westerly
Looks serene in the video but my TWS Max number after returning to Manly yesterday showed 34.6 kts.
I regularly saw not more than 24 - 27 but obviously there was a few serious gusts in amongst it.
It was nice behind the Isl but when we came out from underneath the wind and chop picked up. I ended up with 2 reefs in the main and the Yankee blew apart whilst we were bashing back towards the river, it was about 25-26knt at the time, I didn't see any higher than that for the day.

Hi Jules

Sounds like heaven! I've got a five-year-old again (Silly me at 67) so stuck with school holidays. Best I can do is a road trip up there 2 weeks starting 1st July without the boat unfortunately :-(.
Was up there last year same time and damn near bought a second boat to keep there but unavailability of insurance in cyclone season turned me off the idea.
Jules, one of the larger trailer-sailers would maybe solve your problem if you can store it somewhere cheap/ish up there.

Yes thanks for that. I did look at a couple of trailer sailers up there last year but was at a loss to think where I could keep it. Didn't help that the examples I looked at were rubbish as well. Even did a trip down to Mackay to see a yacht there which also proved to be rubbish.
In the end I calculated that even though charters are exorbitant up there it still might be cheaper than owning a yacht that I only used once or twice a year. Actually I have enough trouble keeping the yacht I already have in good condition so the idea is pretty much shelved for now.
My yacht was a frequent visitor every year to Airlie Beach under its original Melbourne owner for many years as evidenced by plaques on its Bulkhead and also a chat with the manager up there last year.
Not my boat, a charter but had a week on the Ionian Sea in Greece doing some island hopping. Not much wind most days.
Can any one guess where i am?
(No cheating Lazzz as i know ur tracking me, ps all the loops on the track i was chasing fish)
And on a next to no wind day one gets out the light spinnaker that hasnt been used yet.

Yeah, saw you were a busy boy today around Hook Island exploring Nara Inlet & Macona Inlet.
I'm guessing the spinnaker was for the run back to Airlie!!
Enjoy - freezing down here!!
