If you just want the wing www.wasurf.com.au/collections/foiling/products/armstronghs1850wing
That's interesting Hilly it's gone from $1099 to $1189 in couple of days , maybe the exchange rate.
Dont know if to wait a bit and see what's coming next , likely a HA series I'd guess.
Not sure about HA for heavier people and surfing. Lots of people struggle on the Axis 900. price wise I would say they were guessing on wholesale and got caught out.
Funny you say that about HA ,I was thinking of holding out for a HA to DW on ,but maybe the HS 1850 is a better bet because it will go slower and not stall as well as have better handling and a good top end. I'm going pretty good with pumping back out on the 1550 now I've worked out the technique so I don't really need it for the surf but I'm sure it would be fun to do laps on.
Ive only got a 4m wasp and I think a HS1850 would give me more bang for my buck than gettinga 5m wasp for lighter winds?
With both you will be flying in 10 knots
Great to see some more wing sizes to choose from, hopefully soon we should have:

HA ????
I'm guessing the bigger riders will go 1850/1250 & smaller 1550/1050 + a HA wing for sh1ts n giggles.
The 1550 is my (72kg) goto & would like a smaller wing for prone on bigger days & the occasional toil sesh.
Question - is 1550/1250 too close in size, will probably go 1550/1050 but interested in others opinion please.
I use the 1200 on a sup at 105kg so I would suggest 1050 at your weight.

Hey toppleover,
I'm 84 kg and my Daily up to head high is the 1550 , I have a CF 1200 for bigger days and I haven't found its limits yet, it takes the faster / bigger takeoffs without ejecting and I can connect waves on it but I can't pump all the way back out. I recon the 1250 Hs would be great second wing , there is definitely a decent gap between them. I haven't ridden the 1050 but you probably don't need to go that small unless you want to tow into bigger waves than paddling.

Yeah, I think I'd use the 1250 more than 1050 - to have all 3 wings would be ideal.
Most day's here on the sunny coast the 1550 is really all I need so think I will wait for the new wing to be released.

I'm tossing up if I should get the HS1850 for winging and small days prone ,or wait until they bring out a HA wing.
The HS1850 Just looks like bigger 1550 so I know what to expect there, but now you've had the HS1550 for a while and you had the axis 900 which is a HA wing what do you think is the better way to go ? Appreciate your thoughts

That's a hard one because you couldn't really good wrong with either wing but I would probably get the HA (that I was informed by Armie was designed for wing & dwinding) just for something different.
HS1550 vs Axis 900, the 900 is easier to pump & has a touch more glide but the 1550 turns way better & that's what I'm into right now.

Thanks Mate , did you find the 900 stalls earlier when slowing down too ? Was listening to a pod cast on DW and some prefer to use surf aspect type wings over HA because they don't stall when slowing down.

Yes, the 900 stalls earlier than 1550 but I don't know if it's the same for all HA,s mate.
Any word on the HA
Very soon is all I know, Mateo_ell has an 1yr old Armie proto HA - he said he prefers the HS series for waves.
Matt Nuzzo with Real Watersports was out for a session Yesterday on the 1850 and he was crushing it. He left the wing with me for the day, so I took the 1850 for a spin in some small waist high waves. I was prone paddling my 5'1" 74L wing board. My first wave was a 3 for 1 and I ended up back in the lineup! It went unreal and turned great. No learning curve, despite being on that giant board.
I've got mine on order. If anyone in the states is interested in my 1200 or 2400, hit me up!
Interesting to hear some reports,Got my first 4 for 1 on the 1550 this morning, but I'm still thinking it would be a hoot to have the 1850 , how different to the 1550 did it feel?

Wow, so are you saying the 1850 will replace your 1200 and 2400?
The 1850 felt like it pumped faster and projected more with each pump compared to the 1550. More glide too. I was able to safe a few touch downs and pump back on foil. I think it will be great on downwinders, winging, and small surf.
I'm selling my 2400 and 1200 to free up funds! I learned to wing on the 2400, so I don't really need it anymore, especially at my weight (65kgs) with the 1850 joint the quiver. I use my 1050 if the surf has some punch, so the 1200 doesn't get much use.
Hey, that's my Insta story!
I also measured the leading edge thickness and it's the same as the 1550, maybe slightly thinner.
I'm currently looking out the window waiting for the wind to come up, as there are no waves!!!

Hi Graham, yeah ripped it off your post , I was comparing a standard 1200 to my HS1500 the other day & couldn't see much difference in the design.
Have you had a look & noticed anything mate ?
haha, no worries. I think you are on to something. I just took out my 1200 and compared to the 1550. They have basically the same thickness in the (1mm thicker for the 1550). The AR is slightly higher for the 1550 compared to the 1200, but the overall shape is almost identical.
The differences between the 1050 and 1550/1200 is more drastic I'd say. I bet Army would have put the HS1550 in the CF line if the 1600 wasn't already there. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a 1550 V2 similar to the 2400 down the line.
The 1200 is still my favourite foil
Someone just offered to trade their CF800 for my CF1200. Now you have me second guessing it!
I'm hoping my featherweight frame can get up on foil winging the CF800. Nuzzo says I probably can if I don't have any issues with the 1050...
For the one who rode both is there a big difference between the 1850 and the 1550 ?
Pick mine up today will let you know. I hope heaps - expectations are more glide, earlier lift, harder to turn, easier to pop a wing and a touch slower. I got mine for low wind wingding and small wave foiling. Hoping to replace the 2400.
