It's interesting how the new trend in wing boards is to add some rocker. Aside from initial take off, I've never found anything good about riding nose down. Glad you've got it dialed. Did you mean 2.5 mm base shim or actually 2.5" of rake from 90 deg?

Ooops-2.5" would be immense, eh?
My bad, it's 2.5 degrees.
Makes a huge difference, completely balanced now. Yeah, next wing board going to have that built into tail rocker as my current is dead flat. Doubt I'll need that on my prone

I got a chance to ride the 960R after a few months riding only the 860R (93-95kg). Very similar ride, great pump, obviously a little less turny. Nothing surprising at all. 1075R is coming in the next few weeks. I'm stoked on this series of foils for surfing and downwinding.

You think the 960R is a viable first DW foil for Hawaii conditions?

I did a lot better learning to downwind on my axis 1201, but I hate how it rides. lots of low end for paddle-up and transitions but it turns like crap in comparison. I'm really hoping the 1075 can replace the 1201 forever. If you're lighter than me the 960R could be a good first DW foil

I'm getting ahead of myself. I picked up a used axis 1300 to get me through the dog days of very beginning stages, so actually it would be the 2nd. Talk about turning, with the ginormous wingspan on the axis 1300 I'm hoping to not be on it too long.

615s seems like a nice to have, luxury item. The 720s however is a staple... a must have.. Least that's what I tell myself as I hover over the buy button.

Depends on local conditions. I always felt a bit overdone when towing with the 720. I have tried the longer fuse and shimmed different tails with not much luck. The 615 just feels right dropping into a steep decent sized wave.

I only say that because I don't have a 720S. As soon as I do, I'm almost certain the 615 will be essential. So goes the foiling virus.

Love the 720, I (82KG) ride it with the med fuse and the 135R tail on a NoLimitz mast with a Stringy adapter. Gets me going so fast in winging (Sab Torpedo 90L, Ozone Flux 5) makes me doubt any bigger foil. Glide is great, turns pretty good too.
