i could be wrong about this but here goes ,,,,i asked too and they said maybe after april (next shipment) they will be blue .
so i'm guessing it's a second release ,?
i quite like the red....doesn't red go faster ?
I'd get the plain balsa one if I could, they seem bulletproof. Though never seen a creek in person.
You are only limited by your imagination......
Breeno, your board looks awesome! Thanks for the pictures!
For anyone interested surf fx have a good sale on at the moment... i ended up with a 8'10 flow. Most boards are about 1800 buckeroos.
Congratulation Nugman.... enjoy the Flow and let us know how it goes for you!
any feedback on comparison between 9'1 & 9'4 CREEK yet ?
Just got the 9'1, so I did a stability comparison video for you.
Hoping for a chance to surf the 9'1 today, but the wind is starting to go bad as the sun comes up.
STC,
Thanks for the stability comps. It'll be good to see how it does in real surf conditions. It's been flat since I got 9-1 Creek, but, I have surfed it a few times in small beachies with varying degrees of chop and found it to be comparatively as stable as my 8-8 X32LE, paddles straighter, goes thru the whitewater better, catches waves easier, turns a bit stiffer..... I changed to smaller fins and found it was much less stable in the chop. What brand and size fins are you using? I'm going to use the stock fins until I get used to it...
Me: 86Kg, intermediate SUS-er.
Bob
Rick, I note the hexatraction pads on the 9'4".
I've been thinking of putting them on my 9'1", both for practical use ant to protect the lovely balsa look.
Your thoughts?

Agree with your analysis, I have 9'1 coming off 9'1 hokua. Found it tippy at first now used to it. Its much faster on a wave and catches more waves, however I too find it 'stiffer' or not as loose on the wave. tried smaller fins too and had same issue so went back to originals. I do find it tough going back out through heavy wash though.
I surf mostly week beach break rubbish, cant wait to try it in clean fast conditions.

Have you tried getting your foot as far back as possible?
My 8'10" Creek is wet.
Not as stable as my 8'10" Flow, as expected, but not as shaky as I thought it would be.
It was a proper test too. Top of the tide sloshy bucket, roaring cross shore. Yeesh.
Paddles easier in a straight line, found it quicker to get back out with. (It is 5 litres more than my V01 Flow).
First couple of times I fell off I thought "Should'a listened to Rick, should'a gone the 9'1"......"
Then I latched on to a nice wally beachy.
Holy Sh1t. I haven't surfed a wave like that since my minion (sorry old girl). Great drive off the bottom, spraying water off the top. The C Drives help too, a great combo with the channels.
People, if you want this cat to really move, ya gotta stand on it's tail.
I tip my hat to you Bert for coming up with all the bits, and Rick for sticking them all together.
This board and I are going to have a ton of fun for a looooong time.
I borrowed an 8'10" Creek from Balmoral Paddle Surf while I'm waiting for my 7'10" version to be made.
A little big for me but I like it. Can't wait for my smaller one.
BTW - I'm 47 years old, 86 kilos.
Ha ha Casso, that was fun...
I can't wait to see you on the 7'10!
Helmy, if I could afford to, I would put hexatraction on the nose of evey board I have. I just waxed my 9'1 Creek and 9'6 Steeze... but wish it was Hex.
Breeno, glad to hear you are loving your 8'10 Creek!
I need to get back on the stomper more, and step up my game. I think the 9'1 will help me do that.
Yesterday, was total wonky, 18 mph side-shore mess, so a perfect test of the 9'1... surprised me how little trouble I had. Actually may have been easier than my 9'4 because of being lower in the water. SoloShot3 has been a total failure since I got 2 new boards.... 6 hours of good waves, not ONE single ride filmmed. Wore my Kook Hat cam for windy Creek session, so maybe something there.
Niiiice vid Casso
So... from what I'm reading here is that people are going smaller sizes with thier Creeks... That's interesting..
I'm looking forward to re-testing the Creeks I mentioned earlier, now our Winter mash swells are starting to dissipate it's looking like Spring here might continue with some more manageable surf..
Great thread.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I look like Casso on my Creek...LOL!
Mr Creek,
Have you had enough board time uet on the 9'1? Would love to hear some thoughts and comparisons.
I couldn't say no once I saw it in person. Beautiful board!

Picked it up today. Blowing its head off lately I will probably get a crack at some surf around tuesday by the looks of the reports.
I'm guessing the red paint and on special changed your mind over the flow .
looks good nugdam.is that the 9.1 .?

That, but it just seems like a better board for me on paper for me and my consitions... Cant wait to get it wet.
I'm going to have to take it to a local dam just to see how she paddles .
So yes to the 9.1 ?
If yes at 136 litres ,You will have great wave catching ability on that board ...
it will be a faster board for sure ..over the flow .good luck in the dam .
it's blowing it s guts out here too ..I'm about to head out in some on shore rubbish ,getting desperate ..

Sorry, yes it is the 9'1 136l. I was lucky enough the wind dropped out last weekend had some awesome head high waves come through. Shame I didn't have the board a week earlier!
Awesome Nugdam!
So stoked for you... have a blast on it!
I love my 9'1! 2 hours in great waves today.... super happy with it.
All I can say is wow.
As soon as I jumped on I felt stable straight away it floats completely different to my 148l evoke. I found from the handle back is pretty much under water which I think adds a great deal of stabilty but doesnt seem to slow it down. No corky feeling at all which is great.
Super easy to paddle glides along quite nicely. I get about 3 hard strokes before I have to correct it. So tracks really well in my eyes. Turning 180 degrees is super easy it feels like the board does all the work for me. I feel like it will be very lively on the wave so cant wait to see that.
I can feel this board is going to be super fun and fast!
I think an 8'10 on clean days would be very doable.
