Got out in Albany this morning in some super clean beachies at Midland. It was fast one bottom turn, cutback conditions and the Flow did not disappoint, super snappy off the lip ??
So easy off the lip hey, easiest board I've had to do it with It just does it without thinking.
Mate she arrived ... photos don't do it justice .. she is a beauty ... got black logo etc instead of white, she is super light and the rails yeeeeoooowww can wait to get her wet
Yewwwww Dave! Thanks for the pics!
Funny, I am trying to decide if I should recommend this board to a guy in OZ.... since I have never seen one in person.
I will hold off till I get mine in December.....
but it's so awesome to see your boards and read all your thoughts!
Stoked you are psyching Rossall
Rick, I have a bit of a quiver evolving again !!! 8' shroom, 8'8 flowv2, 9'1 creek, and 10' style,, just need some decent weather and find some room for a point break.....

WOW!!!Yes Dave!!!
Got the little beauty out this morning, was only ankle to knee high but clean and offshore. Didnt take long to find the sweet spot to stand, which is a fair way forward of my normal possie and defiantly easier with slight surfers stance. ON the few waves that had some push (they were generally pretty small and weak) it was awesome. I hadnt ridden a quad for a long while and found the looseness in the tail fun. The rails held like a knife in butter and turned so easily even managed to get up the front of the board almost a nose ride!!!! And its soooo light.
Overall pretty damn happy with the purchase I was a bit worried it may have been a bit small for a 96 kg old guy but so far thats not the case. Cant wait to get her in some juice.... Here she is looking very happy after her maiden session...
sorrry it just wont load the right way up....stand on your head!
heaps of fin and im still sliding the tail.
Use the rail!
lol
Second Session this morning... was a howling cross shore breeze but was determined to see how stable the board is/was. Was surprised by how stable it is, I actually had very little trouble standing and it was rough. Bigger swell but wind effected and not overly powerful making it even more of a challenge. Got a few rippers, this board is awesome, it turns on a dime is so solid even on a rough wave face. Put your foot forward to push over a slow wave and its like hitting the accelerator... Just cant wait to get out in some clean conditions..
Ill admit to being a Sunova fan boy, I have 10' style, 9'1 creek and a shroom but pay full price, I would say this is the best board I have ever owned,,,
Has anyone ridden this as a thruster???

I have been using mine as a thruster with am2 fins. Have it set up as a quad to try out. Working 6 days a week is making it very hard to get out at the moment. Hopefully soon I can give the quads a go
Put the Quobba set up on as quad this weekend. Wasnt great conditions generally felt a bit more performancy and certainly faster running down the line....will try as a thruster set up next.. Just waiting for a decent day to be able to test set ups back to back... cumon surfing gods
weird how they sit up above the board ...yes quads give more speed ,in smaller waves
i'm just finalising my plan sheet for my custom black 8,8 flow ,stay tuned ..custom board thread coming up ..
weird how they sit up above the board ...
it is part of the sophisticated design.
They even have small gaps at the base, that remind me of the slotted windsurfing fins

thanks colas ..interesting design .....so the gap gives ...lift of the board ...or is it more focusing on looseness ..?
just interested ..having the extra lugs on the side ...may give you a option of using smaller fins ?

I went to his site ....worth a look .....I think I need to try some ....being able to shift the fin back in the water could be a bonus .

It is more an indirect effect: all the bumps, lugs, slots, wings redirect the water flows to equalize the pressure on the whole fin, avoiding the pressure to build on localized places and break the laminar flow early.
And the fin is thus so much efficient that it holds as well as a bigger fin... but without the drag

I wasn't sure how I felt about the new flow, I never really had the surf line up it had always been small and gutless. I found it could hit the lip and turn really easily but it seemed really stiff and boring on the wave face. I put it aside for a little bit and stuck with my hipster.
I had a session a few weeks ago at a beach break which was still small and gutless but the waves were a bit steeper so I had a bit more fun with it. Took it out again this morning with some 2-3 foot swell which had a bit more power and man it was bloody fun. It wasn't the board I thought it was, fast and very slidey on the tail which I love. I can't wait for tomorrow's surf.
I will have to try it as a thruster again now and see what magic has unlocked
