One query though... the superview mode makes the waves appear much smaller than they are.... anyone tried a different setting? Does it make a difference?

A couple of clips from last night...

Do you upload clips to youtube? If not you should.

I have been using Vimeo.... but will try YouTube. Is there much of a difference/advantage to using YouTube??

So I gave You Tube a go and created an account....How easy!! And it doesn't look like there is a daily/weekly limit either. Even managed to splice some short vids together... nothing fantastic... except for the weather. Cracker day!

Great vid Emeboy. Is there anywhere you would rather be than right here:

I had a nice surf the other day. Small but fun. I have my GoPro Session on the side of my helmet, but the bracket is not stiff so it changes angle... Anyway, it is good enough for me.

yes you are both right about a wide stance and most of my weight is on the front foot ,only until i do the cut back ,the back foot does the steering ,you could call it .
i bend my legs a lot and use them as springs ,with the hip movement ..
..sorry about your knees ..creek .....I'M 5 ,10 CSE.
This is me on the 9,1 ..i guess it is a fairly wide stance ,but it is a fairly long board at 9,1,i would like to have a 8,10 acid with more foam and width .me on a 115 litre ,at 98 kgs ,no.
whoops ...looks like another custom .

Tested out my kookhat cam with my hero 5 the other day. Its a little heavy but its manageable. Just need to try get the right angle.. and go through the footage on a laptop.

I pointed it further down the next day but it was a bit too much forward weight and the surf was poo. Man the the go pro makes the waves look so much smaller.

Glad summer is on its way. Was a short little 530am sesh before work. Was nice to get in an hour of some waves before a crappy day at work.

I quickly edited the video on my phone. I'm sure they'll get better over time.

Man the waves look tiny on the gopro, does changing from superzoom make much difference? I feel like I'm ripping on the wave yet you can't tell on the video maybe I'll try drop the vision down more.

The videos a bit long and cant really tell how the quailty is with guys on computers. I edited that on my phone as the laptop is dead... Need to remember to whipe the lense.

Waves always look tiny on any GoPro.... just how the tiny curved lens gets it all in.

Your Iphone edit explains the narrow view.... it looks myopic
Make it again on your computer to see the full view.

Using regular view will take some curve out of the picture, but not make waves look bigger, you just see a lot less of them.

These shots show the field of view from my Sessions5 on Superview.
I use it to show the whole wave.... face, shoulder, behind and in front.
That helps the viewer to actually "see" the surfing in greater context. (pic #1)

I take vids of other riders, to give accurate wave size to a video.
Pic #2 looks small
Pic #3 shows wave size

I'll have to get the computer up and running think it needs a new battery... I thought it was uploading them funny in a square setting. I am going to reupload it into cinema view to see if that makes a difference.

Edit** apparently cinema view is true 1080p so here it is reuploaded...
