This is a MUST-DO paddle for anyone who loves downwind paddling. If you're ever planning a Maui trip for paddling, try to fit in either this race or the other Pai'lolo Crossing race in April! So much fun!!! Looking forward to doing it again one day.
Have fun next weekend for everyone over there, if you haven't done it before you'll love it!

That was Pete Peterson from Capetown.
As DW'er said was a pretty good day. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
The next few days are looking mind-blowing.
Phil - hope you haven't gone too hard too early. You looked pretty rooted at the end of the 2nd one.
Did you get some good footage from headcam
Pop into Kanaha on your way through this week, we will be at the keiki beach at uppers
Dave
Ps: if I see you, will try to come out to say hi
7.30am and the wind already beginning to build - today is going to be a cracker. Phil came over for dinner last night and methinks the Frozen Youghurt sorted him out plenty as he was providing non-stop entertainment - Saffa crew were hosing themselves...well, except for our teenager who was so jet-lagged we had to force feed him.
Man, you guys are quick on those 17's (Dave came flying past at harbour entrance - having started a day later)......at least here we can try blame it on the boards - back home the Bertish's school us in similar fashion, only difference is they are on the same boards as us...
First maliko run today after 2 hours sleep. I'm gonna become an illegal imigrant and live here.
Ha ha, think it was Bob McTavish's book "Stoked" where he talked about being a stow away on board a ship bound for the Islands in the early 60's and eventually being caught and deported........wonder if I could get away with it.

You could prob hide behind dave kalamas forearms! Only your beard would stick out the edges

Yep how good is the place marcus. I froth and do as many Maliko run as I can we're only here a short time.
went to Yogurtland after that Maliko run to re-fuel.
Then went for a late Maliko run around 5:30PM with Mark Raaphorst. I glided past a prone paddleboarder he must have come in at dark
Mate nearly got run over by that huge ocean liner coming out of the harbour it looked like QE3 frightening
Since we arrived on Saturday, it has been progressively getting better. 6/10, 7/10 and yesterday 8/10. I reckon today and the next couple are going to be all time. Strap on your seat belts, its going to be a wild ride
Marcus, how did the new board go
How good would it be if we could watch the race live with the big names being tracked with gps tags like the America's cup races..
Something like this vid fom peterp..

It was epic Maliko today 9/10 some of the runners you could catch were insane my thighs were burning and cramping up for being in surf stance for to long STOKED. You'd be in this big troth run as fast as you could to the tail of ya Bullet ( I couldn't stand any further back on the Bullet I needed an-extra 5ft on the tail of the board ) and surf for bulk 100 metre plus glides easy you're going so fast you'd glide over 3 swells with ease.
Yes Please Mr Wizard
I did 3 Maliko runs today STOKED but I'm feeling a bit like Wallaby Teds brother Roo Ted (use up 4.3kg off energy fuel). Going out to eat a 16oz New York Steak I need some iron intake followed by a stop in at Yogurtland for a sugar fix.
You go Phil, you Weapon you......pretty epic today except I only felt it turned on after 3-4km's? From there it was humdinger, got a bomb into the harbour, thought I was going to miss the turn.
Overall only 2minutes quicker than yesterday with similar effort. Got to meet Kai Lenny and family in the parking lot - what a humble pleasant bunch the lot of them. Loving this place, I might join Marcus and hide in his beard.
How about some photos guys. There's enough of you over there for the odd photo.
Forget the photo's... give us some vids..

For all the Aussies doing the M2M (and there are quite a few this year) I just booked my accom for the M4M race on Sunday. If anyone is keen they are doing special paddlers rates at Hotel Molokai and Molokai Shores. I am staying at Hotel Molokai. Entry fee for the race includes transfers around the place (including to the start of the race) and you can get on a boat back to Maui after the race with your board for $40. Kelly is then doing a shuttle pick-up from Mala Wharf for $30 so all sorted for a bit of an adventure and another awesome downwind race -
Entering The Maliko Twilight Zone Again Yes Please Mr Wizard
