Brendon,

We had a ball and it was 5 kids ( I must be insane)

Book us in for next year too much fun to be had!

MJ and and I have unfinished business in the Big Kahuna Kook it out competition..

Tell Teeps to grab any images he wants for the SUP Vic Website.

Phill

Thanks Phill. I will make sure I attribute them! Pity I couldn't make it. Gotta earn money to pay for the playtime, from time to time.

Thanks to Sup Vic for organizing such a great weekend's event and SHQ, RPS, the ZU for supplying the demo boards, not to forget Deano with the WOW boards also.

Phil, rippa photos again, being the best kook maybe a topic for private discussion as its not necessarily a badge of honour? having said that I won it hands down! I can see an award coming up for next year!

Great to see such a big turnout of Suppers and Sup grommets enjoying the waves

Looks like a fun weekend with some great waves (that first lot of Phill's photos from the high vantage point).

guys looks like a lot of smiling faces and a great weekend. well done - my loss not to make it.

Those sup's not at inverloch were at shoreham yesterday - i counted 15 in the water at one point - everyone enjoying a glassy 3 - 4' till we could not stand any longer.

organsing any event takes lots of hard work and with a variable like the surf and weather - not an easy task.

I thought it would still be 2m+ at involoch on sunday - pushing above my limits but certainly would have been a 2nd frustrating day for my 9 year old. Had the 9 year old out on both days and spent the last hour at shoreham catching some great waves together on my 10'6" - will defiantely make the effort to get down to inverloch next year. Hopefully with great surf.

Cheers

Andrew

Great weekend. Emmie and I had a ball. Having never surfed before it was a great experience - despite feeling like I was in the spin cycle of my washing machine. Also thanks Kristie for giving Emmie her very own board - much appreciated. We will be back next year, hopefully much improved with both confidence and skill levels. Thanks to the SUPVic guys for organising the weekend.

Ockanui being a Kook can be more fun than rippin it up.

With onshore wind, cross shore wind hitting you between the Island and the shore when you turned to take off and freak offshore gusts to keep you on your toes, combine this with vortexs in the water and its KOOK it out heaven.

There are also specific KOOK requirements and judging criteria, no badges, but there will be t shirts, hoodies, baseball caps etc.

Oh and a SUPer KOOK award.

Start training now!

Specific moves include:

The El rollo, The Catapult, Over The Handle Bars, Reverse La Toche de Mondo, The Rail Straddle, The Tangled Legie, The Over The Falls, The Part Your Hair Using The Lip (some may have to buy a wig?), plus many others.

I think Cam takes the prize. Horrible though the other pics look. To be fair though, I thought us SUPS pretty much let the the kneelos and short boarders take whatever waves they wanted. We generally stayed wide. It seemed to me that they were in the whitewater on probably a majority of their waves on take-off. It was hard to know whether they were going to pop out of the whitewater on the inside.

We had a great time on the weekend, and it was certainly amazing to have 50 or so SUPs scattering the horizon catching some waves. Our kids had a ball also playing with other SUP kids. Brenny, Ross and PT you all did a brilliant job running the weekend, keeping us all together and fed. Thanks guys!!
Thanks also to the Sponsors and all those demo boards that were avaliable.
Just a few of the photos from the weekend.
Cheers Team Morris

Ha, yeah alittle crazy! A healthy, crazy obsession though.

That was a fun little inside left to hit switchfoot.

I was glad to see the RPS demo fleet get a good workout over the weekend.

Guys a great weekend although a BOP event would have topped it off although not in the dumping shore break and onshore chop we experienced Sunday morning - next year!!

Is there anywhere we can search through all the photos of the 2 days - I know there must be heaps but hoping can find something memorable and half decent of myself for my photo album :)

Cheers and thanks VIC SUP and all others involved in the organisation.

Yeah definitely. The way the break closed out just before the BBQ fired up, I think the BOP race would have been carnage if we'd gone ahead with it. I'm hoping we can get another BOP race together sooner rather than later, maybe with help from the Bass SUP crew.

I reckon a BOP race down at Rafs would be perfect with the right conditions ... could even use the channel marker as a turn point ...

As a member of Bass SUP and living in Barwon Heads I'm happy to help co-ordinate a day which could also include a surf element as well....

Great idea - Raffs is an ideal spot for a BOP race. If conditions are atrocious, you can always go across the road and turn it into a flat water race in the Barwon. Maybe check in with Rich and Kevin to see what they think.
