Finally, stitches out, wound re dressed, first paddle in 2 weeks.
Half Moon Bay.

Still not meant to get it soaking wet.
Felt wobbly and unfit.
Great to be out though.

Hey Noza is that protected from a southerly wind or did you just hit the water early?

That was 10.30 after the Doctor.
The medical one, not a name for a wind.
A bit of protection from a southerly / south westerly, better if there is a bit of east in it.
Ideally you get to paddle upwind / crosswind for a bit, then downwind in to the cliffs with waves behind you, paddle back along the shore in a bit of shelter.
Good fun this morning .
But don't tell anyone, it's a secret.

Last photo 11.37, breeze probably 15 knots south south east.
But remember it's a secret.

It's been "red bus" at makorori beach the last days.......today okay....but yesterday strong offshore winds (the sup enemy).....plus punchy waves breaking on shallow sandbanks. Yesterday i was just an old try hard being blown off the wave faces.....today could almost pretend to be a winner

After two months of getting struck by depressions and unsurfable howling onshores, we had 3 days of pure magic...

but that alas probably claimed the life of Quicksilver/Boardrider CEO, Pierre Agnes, a beloved local, his fishing boat was found upturned on the beach 500m north of these pics 2 hours before...

Great spot and waves Colas!

Sad news about Pierre, I saw the picture of his destroyed boat and a story about the search for him.

Yes, I didn't know him, but he was a beloved and respected Capbreton local. A very good surfer (captain of the French surf team for years), and apparently a excellent self-taught businessman, deeply liked by all that who had worked with him. Alas, like most professional fishermen here, he never wore any safety gear when going fishing...

Ventnor Phillip Island.
You should have kept paddling and said Hello Dave.

A bit windy offshore.
Mostly flat water sideways practice.

Hey Nozza,
Thought about going past Flynns but had the Mana not the Glide and the wind was picking up so went to Cat Bay to try and catch some waves, not successfully.
