I have just taken up SUP and I regularly go out on the Murrumbidgee River in Southwest NSW just above Gogelderie Weir. Early in the morning is best and during the week is even better because there are a lot fewer wakeboard boats and very little breeze. I tend to go up stream for the weir for around thirty minutes and then return back to the boat ramp where I launch from

The stars aligned the last couple of mornings for fun waves in the metro area. Couldn't believe no one was on it but was enjoying just picking the right sized nuggets with a steep little off, racey section for a top turn or two then a close out end section that then went into a deep gutter.

Early bird got the worm! Next to no one in car park when I got there as I was leaving it was like it was peak hour!!

Id love to share this little gem but can't find anyone as keen as me on the dawny ??

Hope you all had fun this long weekend!

Had a great surf at Flinder on Sunday, but this morning was something else. It was well over my head and I am 6'3! I had my GoPro but it always makes waves look small. But on one wave I reached a max speed of 29 km/h so that gives you an idea.

It was pretty lumpy, and some of the waves closed out, but what an adredeline rush taking off on those bigger waves!

14' Search action, East Point, Darwin.
Some local Samoan crew rocked up with an acoustic guitar and started singing tunes in language - full Island Style.
There's something about traditional Polynesian music that just seems to work with the ocean - it's effortless, calming and cooling to listen to - and to hear it out on the water was another level of joy.

I reckon it's how the sea breeze would sound if you could play it on guitar and sing it.

Every now and then, the wind would catch the melody and it would drift across to me as I was paddling.
The tunes, the salty slap of the ocean against the board, there were Kites and an Osprey wheeling above - it all made for one of the greatest days on the water I've nearly ever had.
No waves, but the vibe was all time.
I came in a changed man and better for it.

Cheers fellas
The Search just continues to impress eh - both in performance, its shape and finish. It still blows my mind every time I take it out - one of those boards where everything's right. Bert's a genius!!!
Easily one of the greatest investments I've made - the gift that keeps on giving!
