Question and Answer time

I'm currently in the "infancy stage" of developinging a Range of high performance "Dogman Model" Sups for production with Surftech……Yewwwww!!!!!!!! as you can imagine I'm a little excited

so I'm putting out the question to you breezoids

to "hand over" a bit of feedback into the dimensions that "you'd like" to see and give it a name……?????

ATM... I'm thinking of a few different models...aimed at high performance

hybrid Snub nose 8'0 x 27. (swallow / roundedsquare tail) rabid dog model
a mutant board for liteweights to experienced middleweights.
the ultimate board to buy the girlfriend.....hahahahaha!!!!!!

high performance Hp nose 8'6 x 28. (swallow tail) daily kibble model
as suggested its my everyday board. 70 to 100kg
this has been my favourite size short sup for fulltilt rail turning at speed

high performance Hp nose pulled in tail 8'10 x 27 (swallow tail) the daily kibble model on steroids for 6ft+ cavern hunting. for when your bottom hand turn is the difference between you eating sh1t all day or getting the barrel of your life.. very wave......

big boys shorty Hp nose 9'3 x 30. (swallow / pin tail) truckstop model
the same board as the daily kibble just super sized up for my fellow maccas n hungryjacks lovers out there.......rock on gentlemen!!!!!!

And also thinking (and its a bit of a wild dream) of also including a High Performance Longboard style 10fter in the mix. (swallow / pin) the tornado twister model
Styled off the board woogie marsh smashed the hell out of first point, in the 10ft final at the nossa festival of surfing this year. (my old board the red rocket)
All the features of the existing 10'2 laguna bay model just refined for a rider with a more aggressive riding style to shred it from nose to tail!!!!!!!!

let us know what ya think??????

over n out.....10/4 rubber ducky

Yew!!!! Bought time you did your own!

World domination on the agender hey??

8'4" x 26" best dimensions for a performance sup IMO. Narrow tail heaps of rocker single to double underneath. Big enough for us maccas lovers but still a performance weapon. Narrow is good

But as you keep showing us, you can rip on any shape/dimension so I'm sure your models will be killer

Awesome Dogman,
Me and two of my mates have been riding our Laguna Bay customs, between us we've got the performance and hybrid shapes. Bloody best sup surf boards we've ever ridden. Those ideas you've got a great.
Are you going to play around with the material side of things with surftech ie, lightweight, solid construction etc????

cheers Pando

Hey Mr Dog Miester,

What about the "PIT BULL" 10.0 to 10.6 weapon of mass destruction HP longboard SUP aimed at dominating the new 10.0 and up division.

Similar to that red beast you had with harder edges, spiral v into deeper nose concave, hybrid nose 29.5 something for the bigger dude on the pie diet.

Me thinks this new 10.0+ division is where the production numbers are?

Awesome idea Mr Dogman!!! The 9'3" sounds like my kind of puppy. What about the decks? They gonna be rolled, flat or concave? I reckon you should call the 10ftr "The Mutt" cos' it does a bit of everything

If you build it , they will ride it......... 8-2 x 28.5 x 4-0 ,apx 100litres , still should let the bigger units have a crack and chuck in a retro styled Stinger-flyer-swallow tail for the hell of it.

I had a try at something different last year.Took the idea off C.Horans Lazor Zap
Go to the C 4 site and have a look at the 8'11 Hipster. The plan shape works great for paddling and late drops ,but they put tooooo much volume in it for my liking.

A thin more refined model in Surftech would go like the clappers,

Yep sounds about right for a good small wave board (up to 10 foot face).

What the market really lacks IMO Dogman, is a decent 'Gun' for 2 x OH and up wave faces. Some of you may disagree (and I could be missing a model) but all the production 'Guns' I have seen have massive amounts of volume - 125 ltrs plus!!

They are also IMO too long and too wide. Biggest performance killer for SUP especially in big surf is width and volume (and flat rockers).

So Mr Dogman, please make a 9' x 27" 100 litre gun that is nice and strong and you will sell quite a few I reckon. Be fun in tiny stuff as well.

Maybe go 28" wide on the 8' to make it a bit more all round? Anything over this might compromise the performance?

Next, have one ready for me to demo!

Hey Ya Dogman.
High performance, doesn't always mean super narrow. OK for the guns, yeh, but still a lot of punters who would froth over a short fish style board, with some stability in rougher conditions. Taper the tail right in to a swallow, hard edge to turn off, lean edgy step-down rails, but just wider. Say 8'2" x 31-32". Could have more volume with a flat deck, from the step-down rail and float sweet as, if your over 80kg.
The bigger guys and intermediate surfers would go them!

What about a 6'7 x 30in x 1 1/4,flat bottom,no rocker,square tail,square rails
and a choice between hollow or solid core. You could call it the "Doggie Door".
All us punters when not surfing, could use it to plug a hole in a wall.
Whatta ya reckon people

Cool. Sizing sounds about right to me. Will they be under Laguna Bay or a special Dogman label?

I've been looking at some of the gong sup designs and i think those guys have got that short barge thang well and truly covered and having a lot of fun on em too....i can image we may have some serious issues with the durability of the pine hollow core door construction....corrosion on the door handles is standard....n we may have to market that one complete with a tub of builders bog and no more gaps for those suckers to be patched up

nice work nitehawk keep em coming

and that won't be for daytime television viewing will it mate!!!!!!!

sorry but a strict policy of no sledgehammer dints

will be ruining a beautiful rail line

you know the deal...........lol

I'm with Piros (minus stinger & swallow tail) - something about 8' 2" X 28.5, rounded squaretail. Keep it as thin and not chunky, but about 100 - 105 ltrs. This will then cover people in the 65 - 95 kg range, I think. So it's a slightly expanded version of your rabid dog model.

They all sound good Rog ...... for the young fellers with good balance.
I'm hoping you'll make a "Stable Table" for us older blokes. 9'6" x 29.5"
Stable for paddling around, but still capable of some carving turns once on the wave.
All the best with the new range.
Pete

So start stroking but use protection of course . Looks like a complete board line.

Those of us far from custom shapers and not seeing it in the current pop outs are waiting.
