289's were in the XR series , first GT had that in it - XT saw the 302 for the first time from memory ... think the XW copped the whopper 351 option a bit later on

Cool Mac,1959 Ford Ranch Wagon,RHD to must have been converted.Australia assembled the sedan the same as that and is commonly known as the "Tank Fairlane" hence his number plate.A lot of hot rodders ripped the diffs out of them in the past because they had the popular 9" diff in them, practically unbreakable!...

It's a common thing in the car world Mac,some do that on purpose so people next to them don't get out of their cars and bump the doorsor it's parked like that just for the pics.If you've just spent 50K on a resto or big$$ paint job you don't want dents down the side

I've seen it all mate and had it done to me with a lot of cars I've had, some people have no respect for anything they just pull up and fling their doors open without even looking or having the respect of other peoples property.Accidents happen of coarse but there is a lot of times where they are not!...

Yes Al..pet hate of mine is the door swinger..especially (apologise in advance) "larger" people who park too close

And 4WDs that have trouble fitting into the small spaces allocated by the lines..not the owners fault but councils should allow for the trend over the past 15 years with peeps driving larger than sedan SUVs that never see mud/sand..

Very true SB,the councils should be looking at a bit larger spaces with the explosion of SUV's , duel cab utes and vans.I'm not against them because that's the way it's heading and I like some of them and know a lot of friends have them but something needs to be done!...

Oh and btw,all the best for Christmas to you and your family mate
