You know what really amazes me about that morry is not that it's so cherry, it's all the accessories, they all look like factory items. It's remarkable enough that the car survived this long, let alone all the extras.

good example are the Spatz , there were still plenty of Morrys around when I was a kid, but I don't ever recall seeing one with Spatz

At a guess there was a good chance all had been sourced direct from the UK mate - it all fit well with the pulldown anyway

You'de be surprised what they reproduce these days.. www.ebay.com.au/itm/MORRIS-MINOR-1000-SERIES-MODEL-REAR-WHEEL-ARCH-SPATS-NEW/231246805048?hash=item35d7623838:g:D98AAOxy7RBRY5th,Spats,Visors,Blinds they make them all,I've bought off this mob because finding originals are like finding a needle in a hay stack because a lot of the originals rusted out or just plain fell apart, more than likely they are reproductions or he's been hunting around at swap meets to buy originals which cost bigger bucks "IF" you can find them. There where heaps of these Morris's around in Australia back in the day.Although you don't see to many 2 doors these days!...

Yeah there's a couple of rare spare UK model suppliers on UK eBay I've used too who even have stuff like brand new Lucas equipment from the era - complete bezel & chrome metal sets they used to come in with the leather or rubber seals , I saw fenders from old Jags , Triumphs , Austins etc
quarter panel inserts etc , but the freight cost is evil combined with the tax .... but yeah it's still out there

My very 1st surf trip away with a mate as a kid..I was 15 and had bought a Morry 1000 (which I parked in a Housing Community car park, def not at home) and we went from Maroubra to "The Farm" sth of Woolongong..unlicensed..it would always jump out of 3rd gear when pushed so the drive through the Royal National Park was a classic of holding it in 3rd up all the hills..old mate and I took turns at holding it in..
I'd forgotten that story until I saw the Morry above..Thanks Pup.
