^^^^Harsh but true
I've had the flu past 10 days killing me
Need some waves!
haha NP bro, hope ya get well soon...need some waves too. Come home to the same old sh1t & feel I've stiffened up (in not so good way ;) due to the cold & devil winds.
But yeah, its says "interesting threads" not interesting surfing threads, there will always be space for them of coarse & not everythings gonna be interesting to everyone even if they are surfing related. There are threads in regard to people chasing balls I have no interest in & I simply don't read them...too easy
The good thing about the greenroom in my opinion is that we are more inclusive of surf craft other than traditional longboards. This is due to generally more life experience & it goes part & parcel in turn of having more varied interests also...placing topic restrictions only stifles forum activity which leads to people complaining about things being quiet...cheers
Nice read Mick.
Hey Captain - this one is super interesting - like who the hell is this fella?

You have to think Ballina houses prices are going to start taking some hits soon if they have not already. Who is going to want to live somewhere you can not go in the ocean !
This is good...
A slightly different take then the mainstream media and popular history...

And a good follow up to that :

Seems the great mans halo may be getting a bashing from some quaters
This kinda follows a few comments in these articles.. 1968 world titles.
Interesting watch either way to see the variety of boards being ridden at the beginning of the "shortboard revolution"

Funny you should say that...missus & I did a reconicence mission there in 2008 with an interest in moving there. House prices were good then we tought, but we were worried about work. Was seriously considering retiring there, hope they sort something out.
The comments under this clip are pretty funny especially the Russell coit one

Thanks Captain - that was a good read. Some of those waves look terrifying if you ask me. I would be frightened just been in the ski
These guys are a good example of how interactions with sharks most likely associate humans with food.
Bonus video after that, a new Star Wars out in December "Rogue One" Star Wars story, looks awesome
reckon magnets or a shark zapper would have repelled that one???
Scientific testing on the shark shield freedom 7 says yes, 9 out of 10 times TBF you did ask the question..
The shark looked as freaked out as i bet the dive master was

What does a scientific test consist of? And how many times is tested to get a 9/10 ratio determined and what the **** happened to the 10th?

UWA peer reviewed testing. Every tenth time the decoy got smashed .. But this isn't a shark thread, i just replied to one question mark..
Good to see someone with some balls finally stick it up the young brat

This is interesting. Major League Basballer lives in Van during off season.
Daniel Norris is living the dream, and he’s broken the mold. The mold I’m referencing is the one that professional athletes who don’t fit in the traditional “bins” of vagabond prone sports like surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, fly fishing, climbing etc. Daniel’s one of the wold’s best MLB pitchers who calls a yellow VW bus home during the offseason. During the Log Renaissance of the late ’90s and early ’00s, CJ Nelson emerged as longboarding’s dark knight, a brash, heavily tattooed goofyfoot with unparalleled noseriding talent.
In 2002, Thomas Campbell’s film Sprout showed Nelson in top form, his highly technical yet fluid surfing perfectly matching the ruler-straight peelers of Scorpion Bay.
In the following decade, Nelson slid into a cycle of substance abuse, gaining a reputation among his peers as a bridge-burning drunk. Those hard-lived years started to affect his surfing and his health, and, like so many brilliant talents before him—from Dewey Weber to Butch Van Artsdalen—Nelson seemed destined for an early grave. But after losing his father to cancer in 2012, Nelson took a hard look at his life, put down the bottle, and recommitted to surfing.
He’s reemerged a humbler, gentler man, interested in making amends and, as he told me one night in Mexico, “keeping the fire lit.” Today, Nelson’s more in love with surfing than ever before, living clean and consciously, doing what he can to inspire the next generation of log stylists.
“That Joe Strummer, anti-establishment spirit still lives inside of me. I can still say f–k you to the right people, in the right way.”
