Not many are aware that we are putting plastic into the ocean every time we wash clothes made from synthetics such as fleece etc . The fibres break off and pass through grey water filtration systems then into the ocean through treated water outfalls . Parts of Sydney harbour have fish populations with plastic residue in their systems .

Most fish caught these days has micro plastic in their system. That plastic build up in and eventually passed to what ever eats that fish

Great day today

www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/oct/22/new-zealand-make-history-beat-australia-all-blacks-18-consecutive-wins

The victory in front of 47,744 mostly delirious All Blacks fans completed an 18-match winning streak that began in 2015 against the Wallabies at the same venue — where New Zealand are unbeaten since 1994.After falling to England earlier in 2016, the loss also consigned the Wallabies to 3-0 series defeats against two nations in a single season for the first time.

When they say

The Wallabies nevertheless showed vast improvement after 42-8 and 29-9 losses to the world champions in the Bledisloe Cup clashes in Sydney and Wellington.

It makes me wonder - as I seem to recall the final score was 37-10 - which is much worse than 29-9 if you are Australian (but great for me). The media these days are clearly not as smart as they used to be

Ted the title says interesting.

Read this yesterday.. Great lateral thinking..

Matt Petersen, a Fitzphile from Randwick, has the answer!

"The ARU," he writes, "should fully fund the AFL to expand aggressively into New Zealand. Two teams – North Island and South Island. As these are getting established, the AFL will do their usual masterful work on building the game from the ground up through schools, local communities and junior comps. Ten years after that, and with at least one flag under their belt, all of the fittest, fastest, toughest, longest-kicking Kiwis will be playing the four-quarter game. This will greatly dilute their national sport talent pool, thus weakening the All Blacks, allowing the Wallabies to assume their position as the number one team in the world. Simple."

GENIUS, I tell you! Just rename it Australasian Rules, and we are on our way.

I didn't see what went down either, and honestly don't care, but i think to be fair you need to suggest that all parties let it go in your above statement. TBH the negative chest beating crap on SB is so boring and its what brings the place down..Really i think people need to develop a thicker skin if they want to play on the net

i just wanted to see more pictures of him looking like Ellen.

But yeah interesting back story and the Sunscreen looks the good too.

Not sure if i believe the Sunscreen is a reef killer line but the other benefits look good, when the invisible zinc runs out might try some.

Before John John, before Andy, before Sunny or the Ho brothers, Buttons Kaluhiokalani was at the forefront of radical surfing in Hawaii. Bursting onto the scene in the late 70s, the sand-eating, heavily-afroed Oahu native helped pioneer a new brand of fast, flamboyant surfing that combined traditional lines with carving 360s and effortless switch-stance manoeuvres, and now a documentary is being made about his life.Directed and produced by filmmaker Chris Frank, Aloha-Buttons will pay homage to one of surfing’s true originals through interviews with those Buttons knew and touched as well as extensive footage of the man’s incredible performances in the waves. A long time friend, Frank’s inspiration for making the film came after he learned of Buttons’ passing.‘In 2013, I was struck with a liver disease that left me in a near-death coma for ten weeks. Unbeknownst to me, Buttons was also fighting his own battle with lung cancer. Upon waking up from my coma, I tried desperately to get a hold of my friend Buttons, but to no avail. The next day, I learned he had passed. I’m making this film because it’s the closest I’ll get to being able to say aloha to my friend Buttons.’Currently in production in Hawaii, the film is estimated to be released sometime in the second half of 2017. However, like a lot of documentaries, production costs aren’t cheap and the independently funded project could use some help to come to fruition. The film’s crowdfunding page on indiegogo has some great perks for anyone who donates and in the spirit of aloha, all profits from the film will go to Buttons’ family and charities such as the Surfrider Foundation, **** Cancer and the Maui Ola Foundation. If you want to find out the true story behind Buttons, the man, the myth, the legend, donate at: www.indiegogo.com/projects/aloha-buttons--5#/
