Positives

* we won't lose 10 Ashes Tests in a row as had been predicted by some commentators
* neither Cook nor Trott have recaptured form of last Ashes series
* we look like we can take 20 wickets

Negatives

* Watto might struggle to hold his place, hasn't scored a Test 100 since 2010 & has taken 1 wicket in this series
* Bell & Root look the real deal and may have held out - think back to de Pleiss at the WACA a couple of years ago
* Harris might not make it through the series

These tests have been good to me Pup - I am forever grateful to MC and his team of chokers - I am getting myself a new board because of their action so I can find nothing of concern.

Stu - you are not the only one to think so

Taken from the Australian this morning

5:25AM WAYNE SMITH
NO-ONE does shameful collapses quite like Australia and Michael Clarke's side has conjured up another to hand the Ashes series to England.

Yeah rubbish from the middle order...Warner and Rogers had set a perfect platform abd we still had a day and half up the sleeve...shows a massive lack of resolve...we needed another few blokes to grind it out...rather than try and get us home in a session...I hope we loose the next test as well that way they won't be able to paper over the craks with a dead rubber win...Kuwaja and Watson have to go...

Shane Watson - according to Forbes magazine in 2012 was the highest paid cricketer outside of India with earnings of USD5.9m.

Not a bad earn for a bloke with 2 hundreds from 45 Tests, last of which was in 2010.

Watson most overated and overpaid IMO.

At least Kuwaja at least does not cost that much, would give him a bit more time under Boof.

In a strange way I agree that if we lose the last test it will be better in long run but losing consecutvie test series without a win puts a major dent in the confidence..tricky.

Will Harris play the last test???

Nah put him on ice I reckon...no chance to draw the series now so throw all the undreperformers and the rookies in and see what happens....then put this series to bed and start thinking about the aussie summer? Does anyone know how many Pura Cup/Sheffield Shield games there are in Australia before the tests start? lets hope the curators are busy creating lightning fast green tops for the boys...

Good point Tux, double edged sword with the pitch prep, remember what happened when they made the WACA a good bowling pitch against S-Africa

If we had the best bowling attack in the world like we used to I would agree but not sure anymore..

Im no pro but short and wide or full and straight never used to be in the Aussies bowling arsenal but seems to be prevelant now, good length at off stump all the way!

Our spinners are **** so I reckon we go with the quickies...englend don't mind the swing but when its seaming around at 145k's they will start ****ting themselves....I reckon we need the best batsmen we can get as well...and who cares if thier 21 or 41 whoever is making the runs goes in...

Good start to the last one chaps....a weakened bowling lineup and Watto finally found some runs.....not sure if this is good for you lot or not. Its only taken 3 yrs between 100's for him and this may just prolong him another 5 matches.....or maybe he has turned the corner. From all reports he played a lot straighter but was still seen to be falling down in front of his stumps. Looks like this one should go 5 days. My money is on a draw - I know thats been extremely generous to you chaps though
