A couple of my favourites
6'10 and a 7'6
Nice boards but they're just for displays hey?
Not a bit of wax on them or a depression to be seen??

That cause they were newies when i took the pics 6 months ago. The one on the right is my go to board for anything but really small waves atm.

Nice, are they models that can be ordered or full custom?
Deck / shower looks great too
The one on the right is a Nomad.

Beaut boards for sure, shame to make them look scrungy with wax hey.
Hope they bring you lots of Stoke bro.

Sweet, seen a few pics of the nomad. They look good, very sporty.
Bit more rocker than a lot of mids and seem a bit more based of a blown up shorty than a shrunken glider or egg style mids?
So what are peoples take on the Donald Tak Scorpion Noserider?
I can get a used 6'8 for $400
Not investigated them much myself.
cheers
Up there with the best those things RIP.
Cheers Mac, had to jump in quick to secure. managed to get first dibs and then the guy got flooded with offers. But he had already accepted mine
So the car repairs will need to wait, which means even though I have a board I can't get to the beach anyway............. ARRGGGHHH.
Now what to do about fins??
All kitted up with Futures
This things got FCS holes in it.
Comes with quads but was thinking along the lines of keel twins?
Suggestions, recommendations, gifts or offerings

No way to keel fins on that mate, 7 inch centre with mid to large side bites.
I'd say no to quad. Makes them go fast but they outrun sections.
6.5 centre and small FCS sides would be the standard set up.
Personally I'd have some Green AM1s in the side and a S9 centre or Vice versa if you like drive ofthe side fins.
CW set from Shapers are a damn good fin set up for anything like that too.
I will disagree with Mac and SP.
For me goes best as a quad.
Ok as a 2+1. If you don't have the fins then do not waste money buying them trying to make it go better than a quad.
Don't bother with twins.
Been there done that with all kinds of fins and configurations with that exact same size Surftech board and even in the same colour.
Rode mine for years in everything from as big as my local gets to ankle snappers.
Easy 1 board quiver the Tak 6'8".
I hear ya boys about the single and sides.
But our breaks over here around town are not the same as the points and beachies over east.
The speed and steepness of the beachies here is the main thing we need to deal with on most drops, if you don't get in early enough and have enough speed then your chasing a foam ball.
Think I'll have a crack with the quads first, I feel the need for speed because we don't often get the chance to be ahead of the curve.

So why did you ask us then
Big score on the Scorpion. Have heard its an unreal board. Tufflite so it'll take a pounding and the length you were after.
I know quite a few guys on here really like it.
Have fun!

Good question, I never listen to you anyways

But I do listen to Cuttlefish who's actually ridden one
Cheers for the heads up matey, that was my gut instinct and feeling on the shape.
Cool thing about those boards is the core is waterproof so if you ding them just put some tape over the ding so you don't catch skin on it and repair whenever or never.

Will do McH

As long as the bugger doesn't snap on me.
Might need bubblegum and sticky tape then.

I still might go a single with side bites for bigger mushier waves down south.
Would really like to try out a squirrel fin like this one:
www.sanctumsurf.com.au/modii-squirrel-fin-light-green
In the right conditions on that board I think it would be a blast.
I'd comment but I'm not CF so you won't care what I say.
C'mon guys, tongue in cheek bit of fun.
I very much appreciate all your comments, depth of knowledge and advice.
Even if we disagree sometimes hey.
Better now
Don't disregard running it as a pure single, when I was a team rider I took one out at 10 foot Sunset with a 9 inch centre,,amazing speed.
Holy crap Mac, now I gotta take you serious cause you've ridden Sunsets...
Game over, you win.

Yep a wanker statement I know meme bad To be honest I didn't know they came as a quad set up.

Nah not at all mate, deadset bragging rights bro for sure.
Stop being so damn humble and stand tall matey.......
Come on story time now, can't leave us hanging with "when I rode Sunsets"
Back to boards... Yeah pretty stoked that it's the right length, volume, and has the multi fin mix up that I love. And then come with a serious shaper pedigree attached.
Can stop smiling and I haven't even laid eyes on her yet. Only thing I'm not super fond of is the nose shape, I kinda looks like they put the fins on the wrong end hey.
Pretty sure if they did that it would be a McCoy.

I'll let LACEY do the talking up. As for the Scorpion they are a seriously nice board, they really are. The things I've seen people do on those things is mind blowing, rip from the tail and cheater 5's handles everywhere with the correct fin set up of course
