Look in all fairness to Mr McT he makes some lovely boards - I stroked a few of his Bluebirds at the The Temple Of Enthusiasm this morning. Beautiful finishes and fine looking product. But if Mac is having to constantly replace these boards in such a short period of time then maybe he should give something else a crack. For me personally I get a lot of surf time and most of the boards I have had the last 5 years have lasted me until they break or fall apart from too much use / age. I think the Evo will sadly die before I have finished enjoying it - that board seems to love getting damaged ! But it flies. Hope I get another season out of it but doubt it.

Go treat yourself to another person's thought process Mac - at the very worst you will not like it and sell it a short time later. Which really leaves you just in the position that you find yourself currently in. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Now this fella deserves the 'God' title, wise words there and worthy of serious thought mac. Seriously what have you got to lose? You might actually surprise yourself.

Lacey your a dick saying that seriously why would you give a rats, your the one who sells a high end board who clearly stated how amazing a board it is,sells it for 200 under real value,I won't mention the Bobsled, replaces it with a Chinese manufactured popout, like going from the penthouse the the basement imo.I have a passion you have the problem you do the same with your 666 and shortboards.

For the record the 207 suites me as I said before don't wast your time and seriously I can not believe that this thread has been screwed and twisted,oh and don't start me on that advice crap.

Now maybe your med is due now because your talking so much sh-t

how many shortboards do you surf ted?

you know I purchased a dhd switchblade which I like but im shocked at the state of it after only a few surfs. I don't look at it now. not game

sure its light. I've forgotten how much this type of board is disposable almost.

surfed the lsd epoxy what 6 times and nothing to show for it.

you've had a lot of firewires I believe

Yeah I like them as they are nowhere near as disposable as the standard PU and still super light. They also have a great range of shapes off the rack that I like. Makes things easy. I have three boards that are surfed regularly in Indo. A 6'10" gun that is surfed the least. The Evo is travelling back to Oz with me. Tux's board will stay in Indo. It will get more use next visit. So basically one board is surfed 80% of the time as a general rule. Most of the waves I surf are waist to double overhead and I find I can get by on one board most of the time. If back surfing beachies regularly then I may need to get me something to better handle the soft fat small days but in Indo I never have to surf poor waves relatively speaking. I like to have a couple of backups though as it is very easy to break boards over here.

Still trying to finalise a few things. Sounds like a great price. Will put some pressure on the missus in the envy few days. The problem I have is that I have finally found a boat to buy over here so need to get that past her first it's too big to hide in the shed so she will find out eventually

I still see plenty of blokes in their late 60's ripping on short boards. You have years left LL

Yeah at the end of the day each to their own as long as the stoke is still there that's what matters.

Peace to all.

I have found TheSurfboardWarehouse boards I have to be very good boards - Chinese pop outs and all. But then again, when almost every board these days comes off a machine and gets finished by a ghost shaper, then it doesn't matter where the machine is so long as the basic design is solid. And TheSurfboardWarehouse seems to put in the time and effort in the R&D in my experience.

McTavish use exactly the same process for most of their board don't they? Unless you pay a pretty serious premium for his Bobness to touch it.

Like Ted's Evo (another pop out) one of my boards off them is superbly versatile. Knee high to triple overhead (and I DO have photos).

Next time I am on the Goldie I will be buying another board off them to leave there. I just need to decide which one. I am leaning to a HP 8 footer as they don't make The Fountain Of Youth or Flume anymore.

Sorry I've got to laugh, why buy a popout when you have so many great local shapers, yes I have issues with this.

Good boards at a good price - that's why.

I go to shapers when I can't find something off the rack I want - which is frequently.

I have been to four different custom shapers in the last 8 years (multiple boards off three of them). Bespoke boards still have there place, but the various "Chinese popout" manufacturers do have good products. If it works, it works.

And, Macaha, you don't support local shapers - that's plural. You support a local shaper - singular.

Lacey is your seaplane really a tint?looking at it the other day it has no cut laps,so it could well be a cream blank spray. Also please explain the nose shape its very different for a board of its length.

Umm. You need to put your glasses on. Lap cuts or lap cuts then weave paint maybe

The nose is white and goes good

Where is this going

I bet they were, they got some bargains there.

Me I'm not buying any boards this year, except maybe a bigger version of my beesting and a 10ft log.

And I really can't see that happening.

I realised I had some issues last night when I did not know what board to take.....so i took four with me.

They all would have worked, but I kept thinking I wish I paddled a different board out.

I know first world problem's

Lacey your sea plane would look better in these colours,I see why the model is called sea plane now judging by the nose.
