Steady on mac... if Bob gets wind of you being slutty sharing yourself around he could get very cross.

Tip, just pretend it's for a friend

asea, 2 of those boards are almost identical to a quiver belonging to a dude down my way, the astro and the old clear one.

Are you sure you don't surf Long Reef every weekend

Heard a reliable whisper that a particular Mcshop in McByron bay are getting rid of all their Mcdemo boards at some pretty good prices. Apparently all boards are being sold with Mcexplorer covers as well. McDave and McGreg would be the people to talk to.

Well as of today and until I can replenish the old bank acct - I am down to 1 x 8ft Superfish and 1 x 10ft SUP. (gunna try to squeeze a cheap shorty in asap though)

Hi Billboard,

What do you think of the Superfish

I'm thinking of getting one. Haven't been on a board for a long time after a nasty shoulder op went wrong and now only just coming good - still down on a bit of strength. Was surfing an 8'ft McT Carver but have packed on 5-10kgs since then. I've been on an SUP for 6 months but need something for the beach breaks.

Thanks

Hi Daneli - cannot fault the 8' superfish. Compared to the carver it has twice as much paddle power and way more float. It is incredibly stable and predictable but you can unleash it whenever you wish and it will do whatever you ask.
The carver has way way way more rocker and is suited to a hollower wave and is not and never has been a particular favourite of mine but they are popular for punchy beachies and reef breaks. Despite the superfish being very flat I have only ever nose dived it once and have no problems on bigger suckier waves on beach breaks. It really is soooooooo much easier to paddle and surf than a carver.. Only thing you will notice is how wide it is when carrying it - so if you have short arms beware
Why dont you meet up with me one morning at cooly or palmy and have a go on mine to see if it suits you.
Bill.

Thanks Billboard for the response, did you go epoxy or glass (I'm not actaully a fan of epoxy boards).

I have thought or tracking down the shaper and having a custom made, someone once told me his name and that he is prepared to shape customs - maybe a tad more rocker as I do like rocker in my boards.

Keen to catch up one morning. I'm flat out for a week or two but will send a PM soon.

That name rings a bell. I can find out for sure if you like. I would actually bee keen to find out about a custom as well just for curiousity. I think the main reason the board works is because it is so flat and holds so much volume with the step deck. I wouldn't tweak it too much or I reckon it will lose that special something that makes it such a great board. I might give the nose an ever so slight kick just to keep it outta the water on a hollow wave but not enough to upset the entry rocker and lose all that paddle speed and planing ability. Maybe even a bees d more tail rocker as well but only a tad.
Could be well worth talking to him I reckon and see what he thinks about the subtle changes.

This is part of what I ride. Love the hybrid Trigger Bros 6'6, just got the Miller 6'6, then theres my 9'1 F4 quad epoxy, 9' Stone, 10' BM and 5'10 Passion 8 twinnie. Lots of fat slow waves where I live so I ve got a board for every occasion

Taking a while to get sorted but getting there. Noserides a treat - even though I am really crap at noseriding. Beautiful and quick in the turns and paddles a treat but I am just taking a while to get used to having such a thin tail on a board after so long on the sup and it catches me off guard a bit on tight turns and I sometimes lose my balance a tad but it is teaching me to be smoother and use my arms more for balance instead of just being a boofhead and trying to muscle it around.

Overall - very nice board. Not amazing - but very nice. Would I buy another one - probably not, but not in any hurry to sell this one.

I am not really up to date on Takayama boards but in my opinion you really cant go wrong with any of his boards. I have heard wonderful things about the Noah ka oi (or something like that) and I think you may find the manager of a certain Mcbrand may in fact own one of the model you mention so thats gotta mean something I guess.

Also - can anyone please lend me an understanding wife for a few day
I went into the boardroom for a chat and to pick up an new leggy and matty says, " you know how you were chasing a 10fter for Arrawarra a while back" and I said "dont tell me cos I don't need that kinda grief in my life" so matty says "don't go out the back and look at the 10ft R/August tuflite then because you would hate it !!"

Yep - you guessed it - I now own a bloody 10ft Robert August Tuflite I am so angry at myself - but pleased with myself at the same time. I am so dead when I get it home next week
