Back into it tomorrow Ted, I've done epic amounts of sanding and fairing due to the 3D glassing difficulties, so she'll be a spotty looking dog but we'll put it down to prototyping. Board is pretty fair now and strong, plus the weight is now quite good probably about 18 to 20 will have to check. I'm going to get some conventional 6 and 10 ounce glass to save my sanity, but will have another crack at the 3D glass on the 66-021 ( the one with the side cut, up next)

So does this mean it will get a top layer of 6oz and then a hot coat and then sanded? Or will you gloss it ? I am looking forward to seeing how this board turns out. Keep up the posting.

PH - behave

I just stumbled on this thread although this dude is obviously stuck in a time warp he does look to be a bit of a craftsman. Are there any vids around of anyone riding one of these boats in serious waves?

+1 the craftsmanship on the wooden boards is top notch. It would be nice to have one in the quiver provided it was a shape suited to your local waves & your particular surfing style. I haven't seen one suitable for me for surfing, but it would be cool to hang one up on the wall...if I had a big enough wall.

Roy has some surfing on his channel riding them in some nice waves & a Randy Rarrick bloke rode one in overhead Hawaiian waves. Pretty sure the vids have been posted to this thread already.

Perhaps these boards my mate is making might be more suitable

Man those look sweet. I think more info is needed. Any video of them being surfed, but i think they need their own thread

Done - I've posted a Link in Shortboards

^ They look nice...I tried to find that thread with that bloke who made some wooden boards last year. He'd not only made a couple of nice funboard shapes, he'd also assembled the wood using artistic design cuts of different coloured wood that looked great. Even the fins were constructed of a criss cross style of coolness. I think his name was Muxby or something like that...or that's what he had on his boards.

Nearly ready for the fin box and leash plug, weight is 11kg (24.25 pounds) so should finish up at 11.5kg (25.4 pounds) which is just what I'm after. :)

I am with ya. I am always keen to see how stuff goes. I want to see finished product shots, and a video of the board in action being surfed by someone who knows what they are doing. I can make any board look bad.????

Judging by the fact that the rails in my daughters soft board look more refined I have a fair idea how it will go. Exactly how his boards look on the videos on YouTube. Good for cruising but that's about it.

Thanks for posting, hopefully that will cut down on the stupid ****ing replies, question and insults in here...

I'm Sure they are all there
No need to go through it again here.

Most regulars here seem interested in the outcome.

Yes I'm interested in the outcome, however I don't agree with the way Roy shouts other shapers down.
If he conducted himself in a better light so would I

You go for it..
You've been here long enough to say what you like.
And I kinda agree, the whole thread dragged the forum down for a while there.

Roy could be nicer but The blokes that don't add anything normally then turn up to sling insults is just as bad as Roy having to defend what he is doing when people that are interested are asking question.

Who am I 'shouting down'?

I merely express my opinion, there's no rule which says that all shapers have to move in lock step and since I'm not typing in caps how do you think I'm shouting?

I think someone screwed you in a little too tightly, but just to please you and other forum members I'll refrain from updating this thread, you can check my blog or facebook if you want to see what's happening.

I'm really busy, too busy to respond to drab f*cks like you.
