Yeah it's a good thread, shame we lost the Tassie to the dark side

He always did have devil in his name, maybe he was sent from the dark side on a recruiting drive...

He started a topic on long 666 boards the other day - he still loves it. I would not be surprised to see him on another 666 shortly. He changes his mind more than most change their daks Ask him about the changing state of shortboard collection

Look at everyone beating on poor ol' Roy... AGAIN

But I would point out (and it pains me to defend him ) that whilst we might disagree, Roy would be the only person on this forum who's made/making a successful living as a shaper soooooooo...

And lets face it, we all know whats best when it comes to board design, I mean listen to this idiot

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Surfing/Longboarding/whats-happening-in-the-Goddard-shed/?page=1

andyroomac, have a look at this one, absolutely Magic thread top shelf shaper, you won't find a bad word said about Ron Goddard. Generously showed everyone how it's done, no blowing of trumpets, no insults, egos and anyone who visits this room would welcome another thread just like it anytime. If I was on that side of the country I would get a ripper board off ron.

I read that whole thread while I was having a feed. it is such a great read. should be a permanent sticky at the top of the page....laurie? how is your free range egg going ted?

Look, I totally agree, Roys capacity to communicate on any reasonable level falls into the Tony Abbott/George W club. My point is that the forum is p00 p00ing his shaping theories but at least he's kinda putting his ideas into practice and making things that people buy... The rest of us really are just talking bs

Btw @chrispy, didn't you buy one of his finz? Where's the review dude

BS to that, my posts are reasonable. What exactly do you think is wrong with my communications skills?

I've not only been logical and informative with my answers I've been restrained in the face of a lot of abuse including the suggestion that I'm a sociopath, which is a pretty damn rude thing to say and is defamatory to boot. No one commented on that particular piece of 'communication' now did they?

Anyway thanks for correctly stating that I actually make stuff for people.

I just stumbled on this thread although this dude is obviously stuck in a time warp he does look to be a bit of a craftsman. Are there any vids around of anyone riding one of these boats in serious waves?

+1 the craftsmanship on the wooden boards is top notch. It would be nice to have one in the quiver provided it was a shape suited to your local waves & your particular surfing style. I haven't seen one suitable for me for surfing, but it would be cool to hang one up on the wall...if I had a big enough wall.

Roy has some surfing on his channel riding them in some nice waves & a Randy Rarrick bloke rode one in overhead Hawaiian waves. Pretty sure the vids have been posted to this thread already.

Perhaps these boards my mate is making might be more suitable

The first video of the 13-9 Dragon is at The Blowhole, Main Beach Mount Maunganui, the second is at Manu bay, Raglan.

Here's the Dragon at the point again, having a bit of trouble with the lump and bumps and standing a tad too far back:

Roy I'm a manufacturing genis, raw materials can blow out during the process.
I recommend you cut off at least 3 foot from the nose end, because I can't see it
being used.

Back into it tomorrow Ted, I've done epic amounts of sanding and fairing due to the 3D glassing difficulties, so she'll be a spotty looking dog but we'll put it down to prototyping. Board is pretty fair now and strong, plus the weight is now quite good probably about 18 to 20 will have to check. I'm going to get some conventional 6 and 10 ounce glass to save my sanity, but will have another crack at the 3D glass on the 66-021 ( the one with the side cut, up next)

Lol of course not it hasn't been in the water yet, suggest sanding 3mm off your own nose, I can't see it but it might have a wart on it.
