Had some small ones @red bus on the 666 . Morning all

Morning Tb.

Geez your local bloke is into some cool shiz....

Roger Hall has quietly made innovative and beautiful surfboards for well over 40 years. He's a master craftsman swimming against a tide of mass production. In 2015 he bought together a group of kiwi surfers for a weeks free surfing on reimagined HotCurls, mutant Mini Simmons and Log variants. The Freeway Project explores Rogers' boards using a tongue in cheek contest format. Check out the video to see who takes out the 2015 The Freeway Trophy.A big thanks goes to our sponsors: Barkers and Volvo for making this project possible.
Surfers: Trent Lillis, Brendan Young, Paul 'MoonBob' Culpan, Sasha Brownlie, Roger Hall, James Tanner
Crew: Tony Burrows (Producer/Camera/Editor), Matt Short (Drone/Sound/Production), Moonbob (Watercam), Lucre/Sasha/Roger (Production), Carwyn's Catering (Kia)
Music: Petit Biscuit 'You'

Thanks for posting SP that was shot last march not too far away from here . Roger is a good bloke doesn't ram his ideas down your throat and can always qualify what he says . I have always been a bit dubious of posting any of the Hot Curl stuff (I can hear Macaha from here )lol .

Thought you maybe hipper than me.....I just went for a paddle on river after work and ate food and drank beer and fell asleep :)
Contest put off till sunday morning as no surf.....I just went for paddle on river this morning in vague attempt to stay healthy
Me and the knee boarder have great expectations for sunday morning surf
Gets a bit dodgy when no surf for a couple of weeks and the whole city is going to be surf crazy at the first sight of a ripple

Sitting in car watching son play cricket for next 4 hours.
Forecast says 100 % chance of rain.
Not praying for rain but if it comes well so be it.

The knee boarder says the same vehicles and same people were at makorori this morning as the previous 4 or 5 mornings? making the same comments about the pathetic surf quality......if it was bigger? .....if the wind wasn't so onshore?......if there weren't so many visitors?
He also has this strange theory that there is no surf because the 666 riders stole all the waves ha ha

Knee boarder said he was at makorori this morning fretting away and gazing in a pathetically hopeful fashion out to sea like everyone else.....and saying something like "i don't want to go to work today"

I was a bit late.....just went to town beach where there were a few rideable slightly sloppy waves.....which is where the knee boarder found me sitting looking.
Will try harder tomorrow

We were winners.......dead low tide at makorori point and had to tippy toe over an absurd amount of rocks to get to the ocean.......northerly wind so lumpy and bumpy.....swell had a lot of north in it which is good for the point. Surf report said 2.5 foot waves occasionally 3 foot. But the big sets were a solid 4 foot I suspect.
Actually I was the winner as I was the first one out
