Excellent work Nozz'
Just spoke to some of the crew down on the peninsula - sounds like it's gonna be a cracker day down there man.
Some very chirpy Vicco crew this morning giving it a bit of the ol' Bing Crosby heal tappin' you beauty.

Made it out with a slight hiccup at the "ring of steel"

They'd left the checkpoint in place, unmanned, but causing about a 4km long traffic jam.
Only 14 hours after they could have been off the road.
No waves, but a nice flatwater paddle on the 666.

And the crowds?

A bit bad that the road blocks weren't removed, probably a health and safety issue that the workers would have over worked if all the vehicles went back, checked in as per procedure.
Awesome that you have "FREEDOM " that we take for granted. Covid is the new norm of adjustment to various lockdown levels.
After a short second low level lockdown in Auckland a while ago where could still surf but only locally, get out and do the best activity you can on that day

The empty beach does it for me.
I think there's a Don Walker song about "all the empty beach I need"
Waves in the next few days

Missed saying good morning - had to do a run back to Melbourne to see the shrink.
Change of drugs prescibed, so I might go a bit strange for a few days.
Or stranger....

Ah, I was wondering if the Evil Noz may have posted this without my knowledge.
"Empty Beach" I read in a book of his song lyrics on the train to Perth last year.
Hadn't thought about it much until the other day when I posted this.
Could only imagine the poem in Don's spoken word type delivery.
Found this just now, sung by another Hero.
Maybe this should be in Listening or something

Not sure about the movie stuff

Empty beaches are what dreams are made of.

Seems like every bastard is surfing since covid.

Morning Nozza and the rest of you.
(Edit: Disclaimer... I know nothing... but...)
I once read a book called Black Dog Daze by former pollie Andrew Robb. The political side of it didn't particularly interest me, but his advocacy for mental health did. He had a struggle and a half, but -- spoiler alert ... eventually, after some trial and error, he got the advice and meds to work and felt consistently better in his 50s and 60s than any time since he was a teenager.
Onwards and upwards, breezers. I hope this day is a good one for you.

Before I got this I didn't believe it existed, thought it was something Ian Thorpe etc made up to sell their books.
I had a better day today, don't think it made it to good.
But tomorrow looking like good water day.
And withdraw symptoms much less

Good on you, Nozza. I'm looking forward to hearing how that new board of yours goes on the water. Someone once said: "The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea." Maybe they should have said, "followed by a couple of cold Coopers". Maybe they should have said, "try all three (or four!) at once just to be safe." Anyway, I hope tomorrow is a cracker of a day.

Good on ya, Nozza. I used to head up to Woodgate Beach. A sleepy place, just up past the Burrum River. Not unusual to be the only ones on a beach that's a few kms long. No surf (apart from the occasional novelty wave) cos it's in the lee of Fraser Island. But a good estuary to paddle around and a lovely beach with safe swimming and clear water. Sometimes less is more.
