Looking ok tomorrow. The local should be clean but not sure what the banks will be like. Back out there on the barge with the deck grip all over it.

If you didn't get waves on the goldcoast.... Go punch yourself. Easily from I gather we had the best of it up my way. Excuse the pics,I didn't have time to wait for the good ones. Yet it was the best I have surfed it in a year. It was like a a-frame farm, they were everywhere, and I just got better..

Scotty, it was fully sick bro

Bang On Chrispy ....This morning was the same down here...A bit of a scope around for a good bank and it was on...
Best surf I have had for ages (Sorry no pics). Get it wrong and you paid for it on the inside....get it right and it was charging lefts (but heh...who goes left)
For those that were quick to feet some wonderful barrels were to be had....bugger I am slow.

Might be dawn service tomorrow then a trip up a beach

Nice pics Crispy, that last one could have been taken where I surfed this morning with 3 other guys. Much cleaner than yesterday...I was stumbling down onto the nose of my log getting some nice nose rides. Well not quite toes on the nose, but great fun. Then grabbed my germ when the offshore picked up & it got a bit lumpy. Stoked to get some fun waves before the long weekend warriors arrive

I must say I've been a little envious of all the talk about how clean the waves have been this week I'm hoping the wind dose not screw it for this weekend warrior

sounds like some kind of pagan ritual , well the animals at the end bit is alarming

chrispy, find some dollars for my 6'4 bush ranger. pumping board but too much volume for my 72 kgs. getting lower vol version.

I would say one of the best performance short boards I've ever been on and that includes my favourite mf dhd models some 6 years or so ago

Not buying a board for a while lacey.....but this new shorty has blown me away. As soon as I popped up i felt secure.......took a few to get going, being back under 7ft.

Had so much fun banging them lips. Give me a demo on it

Dawn Service, then a quick fish for some fathead then a surf for an hour (or 2) on some of the best surf i have had for a long time.....freakish long walls on a beach break section that shall remain nameless down here......got a bit crowed as the tide filled up and the word got out but sheez it was good...

Some solid ones still hitting early. Clean up set had me thrown into the board, knocking a fin out of the new board and giving me a ripper bruise.

The view from the front yard when I got home yesterday. The rain came shortly afterwards and cleaned it up beautifully. What an afternoon. Certainly made for an interesting return to the water after 4 weeks out. Some critical drops and sections to negotiate.

Very nice Ted. What's your go to board on those days? One of your shapes? Had the Mitchell Rae out yet?

I actually surfed the MR yesterday. Thought it would be a nice way to ease back into things. It goes beautifully. its a pretty solid piece of machinery - has been glassed super heavy / strong. Its an absolute peach of a board when its gets a bit bigger. Its very long and narrow and is hard for me to push it too hard. I wish it had a bit more volume though. Its a nice board for big drawn out turns, high speed cuties and speed runs. It feels very solid under feet and holds its line perfectly in hollow pits. Pretty much does everything you want it to. My go to board is a FW Nano though. Love that thing to death. It has a very large wave range - surprised me on the upside how it goes. Even in the real hollow stuff its all good. Could not be happier with it. I feel like the quiver is good at the moment but I really need two more boards to finish it off. I want a bigger chunkier 7'2" or similar for when its a bit windy, lots of water moving and bigger. I also need a new step up - something around the 6'4"-6'6" with a pulled in tail - good for 4-6ft stuff. Will be a while though as two many other things to spend money on at the moment sadly.

Cheers Ted. I like MR's range of boards. Trying to decide whether to splurge on a new Flying Saucer. It would probably be my only shortie. I think it would be good for the waves i surf most of the time and the build quality looks better than a few of his rivals. If I lived where you do, I'd be after a quiver like the one you are talking about. Except maybe I'd put off buying the step up so i had an excuse to pike the big stuff.

Good stuff ted

I got two surfs in. The local which the pic is from was fun once again. These banks and swell just keep on giving. Then went across the pond and it was ok

I'm glad to be going back to work as my body was aching when I got up this morning.
