Picked up the board. very happy. I also got a set of Simon Anderson Fins SA4.
They should work for the weekend and can then start looking for good prices online..
$155 for a set of fins in the shops is just too much. Especially when you chop and change. You could spend $400 just trying fins out
hey jb my free range eggs are similar to the potato, and I have found that the combo of M7 in front and M3 in the rears is a great starting point for wide tails....its a large set of fins, but the little boards are so loose that I think you are better to fin them up rather than down to get used to the design...you wont waste your money on the M7 M3 combo either you will find that they are keepers and will work well in a wide variety of boards
Hey JB
sorry for the late reply,
I'm 5'8" and 67 kg I've got the future controllers on a 5'8" SP, if anything I should of gone a bit smaller with the board, but that was the only size I could get at the time any I'm very happy with it.
I find the fins hold very well and give the board lots of speed, but this threads got me thinking though, might try some smaller fins a loosen the tail up a bit.
cheers
oh yeah I got my fins from the states from ebay http://stores.ebay.com/Shred-Factor?_trksid=p2047675.l2563
Am i the only one here who finds fin size pretty insignificant .
I think its just a marketing ploy to make money.
Going back a few years with good old glassed in fins, did anyone give a rats what they had on their board?
i was a firm believer that fins didn't make a difference until i went from the AM2 fins to the K2.1's. What a difference! i couldn't pick much in the rake and thickness of the fins but it was like a whole new board
Fin boxes do a lot of that stuff that's been mentioned up there^^ you can even use the same fins
Might have to hold an inquiry into these performance enhancing fins
First surf today. It was messy and windy and waves going everywhere
First wave straight drop and in, second wave go to turn a little and ended up doing a 180 turn and of the back. Third wave i nose dived and went over the falls upside down(that was before i even stood up)[}:)] I think the lifeguard was pissing himself watching on as i was just North of the flags
Eventually got a few, and it felt after i got my Front foot right i was off and running.. Buoyant though and after a little over an hour i went in feeling what could only be described as sea sick
All in all it was nice to be short again. I found you could tuck it in easy and even just take straight drops (bigger sets just closing out) with out nose diving. I will predict that this board will hurt me. I landed just near or almost on it too many times for my liking
Will be nice to get into some cleaner waves..
