"no one calls a wave, dropping in seems just part of the scene now
getting old.............."
Does my F&^*EN head in that Bolgo. Gone are the days of getting shacked on the take off, now you have to fight a face full of wake and yell at the pratt in front of you until the first exit point.
Surfing used to be something to chill out to and wash away the cobwebs of life. Now it's a gladiatorial battle.
^^^
That Sh!t does my head in... and so now the days of me sitting on the peak of the best bank/break are long gong - I just can't be bothered with it. Unfortunately, this means that you do tend to end up at the second or third best break on the day...
I now tend to head for the lesser peak knowing that I am going to probably get better rides (and more waves) than the busier peaks...
Righto how'd you lot fare over the weekend? Been tied up all weekend and couldn't squeeze in a wave. Although I did take the kids beach combing late Saturday arvo and got to see the LAGO. Looked alright too, I imagine today would've been the goods??
not bad in Mandurah, northeaster in morning, solid head height at all the usual haunts, big numbers at Av's and Gearies, had a good session at my local, couple of bombs came through.
Surfed just off Mullaloo Point for about 1hr10min at about 10am - was very glassy, but a bit 'sea sick' and rippy in places and still a touch full on the tide... about head high avg... some weed on the inside in front of the main path
Headed to Trigg at 11:30am, surfed just out front of the Surf WA HQ. Some nice waves, a bit over head, but the Northerly drift made you work to keep your spot.
In both places it was more consistent than it has been - but also both looked better than it turned out to be...
Persevered through a few squalls Saturday late morning at a popular metro spot to have it glass off with just a couple out, got a few good ones and took a couple of beatings
Sunday was near perfect for my favourite out of town beachie, warm for winter, offshore, not crowded just sharing waves with my mate until too stuffed to paddle around. Left the beach with still no wind and stuffed my face at the local bakery, had a bundy, then shot home in time to hear the Eagles belted the Blues...good weekend.
Yo Doggie, PM me and let me know what's been working lately
Back from Indo...awesome. Got asked to go back for a 2 month project starting in November on Nusa Lembongan...fun times ahead.
Raced down to My local (Mindarie) and it was going of quiet nice. But with about 50 blokes out and no less than three people per wave decided against the aggro. Can't believe the carnage i saw. Blokes just weren't even trying to avoid others. Simply ran them all down.
Dropped of in Arvo and would have loved to head back with long board but alas the world with kids didn't happen..
My downloaded App for my I phone said that Cott was 8 to 9 feet??
I'm guessing that was off..?
Looks like tomorrow arvo might be a little bit of fun. Let's hope the stars align and the sands have shifted.
Had a quick swim at Trigg this morning about 7 and there were a couple of guys out just south of the point getting some good waves. Head and a half maybe bigger with some surprisingly long rides.
The current heading south was horrendous near the shore and there were some solid rips so there's hope for good banks.
went to the beach. paddles out dropped in on 5 people to get a wave.
went back to shore and went **** surfing its boring waiting in the water like shart bait only to get dropped in on when catching one.
waited for 25 knot winds
back over to the crappy overpopulated metro kooks and there ****ty beach closeouts and crowded reefies.
Kearnsy's. 3', occasional 4' but dropping fast (confirmed by the graphs). Glassy but lumpy, then windy and onshore with an accompanying squall, then glassy again. Never more than about 8 in the water, so that was good. Sucking very dry on the inside and a very straight swell. No real shape. Worth the drive though.
Rubbish Tips, shoulder to head high, no one else out. Offshore/glassy fun, tide going out and still offshore when I left at 12.30pm.
Trigg was good this morning, cross/off shore winds about head height. Good shape with lefts and rights and not many out.
I dont recon there will be much of the beach left after the weekend!!
The beach is pretty steep with a good shore break now so with more to come over the weekend it'll only get worse.
Monday/Tuesday look if the swell hangs around long enough.
Just got back from the Tea Rooms.
Man, talk about being in a bloody washing machine. That was one intense onshore wind hahaha. Still got a nice right and had a heart in throat moment when I didn't think I could bail in time before landing on the rock wall.
Need a new leash also. That's 2 in a week hahaha
