Not sure yet. Looking for a good 5'8" to 5'10".
Glassy this morning but still a little swell. Northern beaches will be firing....
They sure were, best I've seen them for a long time. Head and a half plus some bigger ones at 6.30am and as clean as can be. Not many out for the early considering how good it was, good banks with a broken up swell meant left/right peaks up and down the beach. I saw someone get a 4-5 second stand up barrel at TP followed by three big turns, he was smashing it!

Getting new new or second hand new lol
Most likely second hand new...but good second hand ;-)
Given my treatment of boards I cant justify buying new...especially when I'm trying to figure out my most desired dimensions

HA! That'll never happen. Most desired dimensions are the ones on a board you don't own that looks joy and MAY go better.
Then you get five years older...
Then married...
Then the first kid...
Second kid....
Promotion...
And everything adds a smidgeon more.
Fun Dawny at Perth's second favourite beach with the offshore winds that weren't forecast. Happy days!
I'm glad I was too surfed out from the previous trifecta of fun to bother with today. I've got big hopes for the next 3 days, too. I'm too old for it all but the grom in me can't resist!
Was that you paddling around again today suba? It was pretty dire.
I was in for about 3 hours yesterday. Had a shocker really. Busted a fin (glassed in) so the board was all over the place
That's a pretty good reason to go in. How TF did you bust a fin out there? Riding closeouts onto the sand?
And I'm a groveller par excellence but that was beyond even me. I watched for about 10 min and didn't see a single wave worth considering. Some broke but they were just opportunistic wind waves and immediate fat nothingness. I don't think I saw a single wall on a wave. 3 hours? I doff my cap, sir.
Buster fin's getting lots of mentions on this page.
What time did you look? I got in around 1 and it progressively got worse. I stayed in for a long time because I was half expecting a friend to pop down.
Bare in mind it's a 30 second walk from my front door to the sand...so jumping in is almost always worth a shot. Besides it was either paddle or go to the gym...
As for my fin. It didn't come out, it's just extremely lose. The glass has given way. You've seen the board. It's an absolute piece of 5hit and it's had it's day.
I'm sure I'll be in again this evening if i finish work early enough
How did everyone go this morning? Hope you all got some
I did the hike up North of the marina - I had forgotten how like quicksand that beach is. Next time Im taking the Prado and will just find a track . I see others parked on top of the hill this morning.
Anyway - Which clown told Brazil about Durrs???
Surf Score : 6
Crowd score : 5 - about 20 out
3 hours in the water this morning and quite enjoyable
Bloody Brazzos at spot X Scarbs too a frothing pack of wolves
scarborough was peaky closeouty drifts crap but at least it was about 20m off the beach
about 60000000punters out, anyone would've thought there had been no waves for the last 10000000days

Made me so happy......I have not had any brazzo problems for a while.
Hopefully they are just following the tour and **** off back home shortly...
I know reality kicked in as I was typing
Drive 1hr south of Perth. Fat, crowded with SUPs drove home as beachies had gone on shore. One word...****E
Trigg Seconds was OK. The bigger ones seemed to just close-out, but the occasional chest-shoulder high one would offer a peak, mostly lefts, with the odd right off the rip. Water was nice apart from a bit of weed, and the crowd was fairly mellow. 5/10 for the fun factor...

I was a bit further south and plenty of fun. During my session I thought about:
1 The banks don't take long to straighten out..
2 There are so many different board designs around. So good to see. No longer does the mini-mal become the choice of the ageing surfer..
3 SUP's don't belong on metro beach breaks
4 Thankfully not a man bun to be seen. They seem to get scarcer closer to the water line..
Only real quick, less than half an hour but it was loads of fun waves. Sadly a busting head ache saw me leaving tall between legs and crawling home. Best conditions I've surfed locally in a long time

Saturday local was great, Sunday north was not bad either
Worst (Perth metro) Autumn ever...
Trigg windy (SSSSE) white-capping waist high crumblers... 5 or 6 out at second car park. Two out at Metts... I've come home to walk the Dog and do the dishes!!
4-6 ' beachies with 4 out, mix of lefts and rights. moderate offshores made getting into them a little more work but opened up some nice kegs. Good TiMessage, tomorrow, the other side of town
