The odd one about the place this morning, faffed around for ages looking at different peaks and probably missed the best of it. Still, got a couple...

Today and next 4 days looks like things are aligning for epic conditions. Should be some left for the weekend with a fresh pulse.
40 out at break I went to this morning. Fortunately got there late and only 20 in the water by the time I hit it.

Me too. I paddled out just before dawn and was surprised to have it all to myself for a while

Sooo - what's the go this morning

Cams suggest it's as clean as, but smaller, fatter and somewhat inconsistent...

A few nice shoulders out at Scarbs... and a few crew to match.

Sat/Sun are going to be packed with people like me who cannot get down mid-week and who are starving for a wave

It's half the size of yesterday, but really clean. Learners everywhere. Waste to chest on the beaches.

I heard you don't even surf any more.

I skipped today, at work with things to do. Will see about the weekend. A few spots under everyone's noses have potential, not sure about the banks.

Out for the early this morning, the odd one about head high but was down to knee to waist within an hour and pretty well flat when I went past Leighton about 3ish. POOP!

Went out at a northern beachie... mate gave me the 8:00am report and said it was cold, chest to shoulder high and very fat - so I took the 9.1 for a run.

Crowded, but not ridiculous - and after 10min you work out who can surf and who can't... 1 SUP and 1 Goat Boat - plus a truck load of mals ... a few fishes and lids but very few SBs.

It was actually a consistent head high and bigger set waves... Ended up getting a bag full of nice left handers... rides about 40-50m+ Not too many rights. Was quite good 9:30 - 10:30, then it sort of went quiet - glassed off, but the sets were a lot less frequent, smaller and there was a little backwash action as the tide dropped.

Worth a look tomorrow...

I went for a long beach walk. Always in the distance, in the distance A-frame peaks but when I got there it was too small. Dirty perverts all along the beach and dunes. When I stopped to watch waves the occasional dog walker looked at me the same way I look all the dunewalkers. Urgh.

Instead I went looking, to a place that swellnet featured recently. A few guys out when I paddled out, they all left and I had two hours alone of offshore, then glass, then left with the onshore. Fast, fast waves, mostly closing out. A few lined up though and there were rights and lefts. It was draining. Got some very, very nice waves. In the distance were crowds galore. Further up the beach were a handful, but maybe 15 per 500m spread over various banks.

I had a look at tearooms on the way home, expecting suba to be jumping off the rocks. It was tiny and 20 out. Ridiculous. No wonder I don't go there unless it's maxing.

Tomorrow I'm restricted by the run. Might go out to dirty perverts.

somewhat of a contradiction in terms today on the east coast as i was awake pretty early (too early) and clicked onto the chopes live feed just as they were starting...first heat was one the ugliest, nastiest looking sessions i've ever seen and while i wasn't a flores fan he put in one the most "balls efforts" ever in his heat with hearri williams..got annihilated on one wave !!anyone that caught a wave today there had to man up.......
could be compulsory viewing tomorrow with an increase in swell size forecast although if it get too big they are going to televise the tow session....
went straight down to the local around 6 and "manned up" into some solid 1footers (breaking heavily )with the odd 2foot cleanup set..think i even managed a cutback at some stage ...............Oz surf festival finally finishes this weekend after 2 weeks, competitors this year have been relaxed and respectful but i can't say i won't be happy to see the back of them after 2 weeks of every imaginable surfcraft in the water.....

Legion I grew up surfing where you went out, we called it "Meets" 'cos it was where lots of wooly wooftas used to meet to service each other in the dunes, much like the dog beach you mentioned.
Had an encounter with a couple of smoking hot perverts there one day after school. Was surfing with a couple of mates and these two honeys about 17 or 18, a few years older than us, decided to put on a show for the boys. Stripped off, went to town with the Reef Oil on each other and then just generally went to town on each other. We were all too shocked and scared to know what to do with them and stayed in the water and watched.
Always kicked myself for that.

Took the boat out today and had one of the funnest surfs for ages. Chest to head high waves, glassed off and really clean and consistent. No lulls, just catch a wave, paddle back out and jump straight on the next one. Must have caught 40 waves in an hour and a half. Just the two of us out, occasional cover but mostly just turn after turn carving up the face.

Just a great low pressure fun session. I'm soo happy right now!

Never used to be a dog beach. That must be new. I don't think I checked it last winter, but had a few (waves ) the winter before. I grew up here too and still live here. We used to call it "Nudie Tubes", at least where I walked to. The main beach had it's common name. I reckon there used to be less casual hookups back then. Maybe I was just ignorant. I didn't use to venture down the beach often, usually better options elsewhere.

That was one for the memory books for sure. Never seen anything like that. It's always old seedy looking blokes. I used to beach run there for fitness for a few months a few years back. Gave it away 'cause it used to make me want to puke, all the gophers popping up in the dunes, pairing up. Fscking sickos. Should let the troops use them for target practice.

Well, it might have been worth a look, but sadly not much more...

Plenty of crew, and it was smaller, fatter, wonky and the nice peaks and shoulders from yesterday just weren't there... did not catch one wave that I was particularly happy with (and didn't see anyone else catch anything special). A few of us that paddled out at the same time all coincidentally came in at the same time - 1hr - all saying how disappointing it was... 4/10. Oh well.

I got some nice waves today. Because of commitments I couldn't make it out until about 11:30. The first 45-60min was fantastic, just as the punt wind had come in lightly. Later however the wind caused it to shut down too much and it became very average. But that first hour was well worth it. Even got two three-to-the-beach waves, pretty good for a B grade metro beachie. Same place as yesterday, a few banks further north. I had my bank to myself again.
