bummer. forecasts were saying southerly winds, so i guess it can be assumed many people didnt bother getting up to check the wind considering what even a touch of side/onshore does to perth beach waves.
^^^^ It really pays off to learn how to read the synoptic charts. It was nearly guaranteed to be light offshore this morning even though the forecast was for S/SW winds.
We've had a long run of great waves over the past 8 weeks, from beach breaks to epic points on fire, dam the east coast sucks hmm
Not so true mate we enjoy showing you wave staved guys around and watch the dribble from your mouth in ore makes us appreciate what we have more.
no doubt Mac that you've got it over our metro area but geez it doesn't seem to stop raining... ever, plus I bet you must yearn for the sunset surf, had a sesh yesterday with an absolute ripper, good for the soul after a hard day's graft only two of us out as well..
Nice wave at the point this morning but pretty crowded. I saw one guy run over two lids on one wave that dropped in on him, one at the start and one half way down the line. Beaches were straight, anything with size was shutting down.
Had a look over at strickos, wasn't as big as I thought it would be. Wind didn't really die off like it was predicted so got a beating coming back.
Got a cray that was just size for dinner though
^^^^^ Torch, the frequency was 14 this morning and I could see swell on the horizon. I thought some of the offshore spots would have been good.
It would have been a **** trip into the easterly, at least you have dinner sorted.
Strikos really good fun on sat just past, very clean head high before rain & wind squall meant pub time until Gurus concert on sun arvo . Max 10 out at busiest period, Lefts going off for most of the time then as tide dropped right got heaps better too!!
Hit my local last night and had to try and share with way too many. When i hit the water there was over 50 plus more joined ( a two wave break)
I should have stayed out. Tried to teach guys to call a direction and gave up when you'd have three lidders calling straight in together[}:)] I don't understand were they come from sometimes.
Anyway stayed till almost pitch black and managed to scare a few off with shark talk. Problem though its very hard to read a key lock in darkness That and then a steady stream of mum and dads picking up kids caused a mini traffic jam.
Worst part was it was okay but party waves just don't work for me so was a great paddle
Bakesy mate, you have got it lucky down there! Today's menu was northerly's (could not remember west or east as I was just keen to get in the water). Light onshore made for spilling waves with some shape surprisingly so had some fun and even doing a little 360 although I don't know how I did it as I was just doing a bottom turn to begin with. Ahh the joys of being a novice
Weekend looking horrible though...
disclaimer: not my local or anywhere in Mandurah. I've been asked not to post pics of the waves in Mandurah and will respect those wishes. This is from a couple of lads on long service service who sent this through to a few of us at work today just to remind us of how good it is on LSL. Had a great sesh yesterday arvo but not this good
Had a small reef all to myself this morning. Except for the two Abb divers and it was surprisingly nice. About shoulder maybe a bit under but i have never surfed this spot so thought I'd just paddle around but ended up getting a few waves. Found a nice rock in the back on one such dismount
Very enjoyable
^^^^ So that was you out there! I saw one guy out on my way back home this morning. The tide was high so with the small swell it was breaking pretty close to shore. There's certainly a few rocks around there.
Always good to get a wave to yourself.
