I bought some booties and raced back to Toms this morning but with about 10 or so out, i endered up back duck diving Trigg, a few nice waves rolling through, if you were in position.

Sadly i wasn't mostly

Poop locally too! Looked like it could/should have been quite good - but was not the case... mate went in after 40min and I followed shortly after.

about ..**** know idea,it was a sea of ants. i mean paddling and then going to duck dive and there is a person either side of your shoulder. oh thats the good part, not like the ****ers who have know idea and just see white water and bail their board as far away from themselves as they can(i had to duckdive a dickheads board at one stage) i just ****ing hate that place more than anything in the world(on weekends)

Your a better person than me Chrispy
If anywhere I was looking at surfing was like that I'd rather not surf
I don't feel like putting myself in those situations anymore
I surf for fun and if it doesn't look like fun I won't surf
Pretty simple equation actually
Have a good one mate

2:30 North Metro update:

1ft through Trigg - nice and clean, but the tide is very low causing the wave to be a 90% close-out. Some LB's at first carpark getting 20m rides - a few kiddies at the Point pulling small left and rights.

Two sweepers paddling flat water at Metts; 5 or 6 sitting in close at Toms.

One of those days where you could have gone out to catch a couple of tiddlers - but you may have snapped your board (at Trigg...)

Not much chance of a surf tomorrow looking at the forecast...

Bigger today, chest high and a few heads up. Mainly right handers in between the close outs. Strong rip taking me southbound quickly.

How was the point?.

0.8m rotto swell, 'chest high'? Rhetorical question, but where were you surfing? (As in, I am not digging to know where you're surfing, just can't believe chest high)

**** that was weird today... I drove past leighton this arvo and saw what I thought were tiny little ridable waves. I though, 'no way!' I had the pig dog board in the back of the car too. But they still looked under knee high. Seemed to be coming from North.

True, a northern swell on Sun, Mon and as you say today. Just a shame the swell wasnt bigger, with Rotto out of the picture it could of been good.

Surf today was pretty sweet most of the metro area from what I hear.

Trigg had some sweet rides coming through, apparently much the same everywhere!

Top 5 Perth surfs ever? Maybe. Extra deep Slaimea Bay, more PP than Slaimea. Never more than a handful of people. The 3pm to 4:30pm slot with four others was extra epic. 3' sets lined up for a good 100m+ of super fast down-the-line speed. I kept waiting for the school kids to arrive and they never did. I haven't surfed Slaimea for 25 years, and this winter I've surfed it twice.

Paul, I stand corrected. I don't want to say much more other than you'd think a few years of surf experience and living nearby would provide some sort of knowledge, but I must admit I was totally misinformed. You are correct and I am incorrect and I apologise.

Yes there was lots of northern goodness about the traps today, all those spots that used to work turned it on.
I endured driving past lots of them several times racing from meeting to meeting, watching lines run at 45* angles to the coast, cursing violently.

Started seeing pics of my usually closing out local lining up like a point break just after I started work this arvo. Would have been a great arvo for a book off.
