Many thanks to Justin, Kellie, Peter, Dylan, Andy and the others who contributed to making this such a great event! Lari and I both really enjoyed ourselves. Hopefully we will make the big trip up again in future years. Really good to meet so many friendly people and hopefully we can return the hospitality some time at Sandy Point. But don't forget to pack small sails, thick wetsuits and lead!
A good week at Burrum! - thanks to all who organised the event and the sponsors.
Good to meet everyone one who travelled far to be there as well (Vic, NSW and the lads from Hamilton Island) - great effort!

Top photo's Justin love the one of Geoff & Tony with the 2 Pryde's the same that's a classic photo hard to get that with good timing.
thanks mate.
I really liked that one of you. think it's the best i've managed to get of you on the water over the years.
follow up re photos and full results table.
I spoke with a few people during and after the event so I wanted to post a follow up for everyone.
I will be posting a couple of photos of each person on seabreeze for people to grab a copy for themselves. I need to edit the photos as the ones posted currently are effectively straight out of the camera and turned into a jpeg. It will take a couple of days to go through every image. as I get things done i'll upload photos so those whom have not seen a photos of themselves to date please keep a look out.
we are currently compiling the video and photos taken at the event and will make the entire collection available for purchase as a fund raiser to cover costs of this years event and go towards next year if funds allow. the discs will be dvd with a cover page and case. I'm not sure on the final cost as yet. the disc will include all the hi res images from the event plus video.
full results table will be published online for everyone to access via cloud or similar. I did a double check last night and Dylan will upload to the net once I've confirmed with him. we need to add a couple of results from ka72 uploads of people who had to leave early. we'll link to it here. there are some people whom did not lodge gps files from the final day session. if you still want to include them then please email them through. please also pm me if you believe any omissions have occurred and i'll address them.
I have also been in touch with Kate at ch7 and she will endeavour to send us a copy of the sports news items from both the Thursday and the Sunday. most of us saw the Thursday coverage but we have not seen the one design coverage as yet. once I get the disc from ch7 i'll look at the best way to make that viewable for all.
cheers
Justin.
Thanks Justin, Kelly and and the Windwanderer crew for organizing another great event. Also a big thankyou to all the sponsors who supplied the great prizes. Again thankyou to Peter Nitschke for the fw 90L board that Greg won in the lucky draw.
Mark Jordan is missing a 460 RDM Hotrod mast. He had this at Windfest and can't locate it. If anyone has seen it please let him know (posting for Mark as he cant get onto SB with his phone).
mark came back on the barge with me on the last day and had his gear in the tender alongside the barge. I am almost 100% certain he passed his mast to me and I put it on top of a board that was part of all of the gear that got dumped on the sand when the barge arrived. I think it was a JP board but cannot be certain as we were all moving gear pretty quickly.
I am sure it will turn up and was picked up by accident in the rush.
can everyone check their gear
can everyone check their gear
edit - disregard... missed the last day part... I was gone by then.
I just got off the phone with mark and he said it was not the mast I was referring to.
it was prior to the last day and was in a black and grey hotrod mast bag.

I did bring up a sail, boom and mast (in a bag) on the 2nd last day from the barge... I popped them on the lawn up the front of the house next to Burrum Sands... Thought they were safer there than on the beach whilst it was getting dark and no-one around...
cheers roland.
pedro also picked up a silver mast bag he was missing as well around the same time.
if everyone can check their gear once they get home from work........

Thanks to the organisers of wiindfest 2014, is a great event and you get to meet so many nice people and also thanks to all the sponsors. First time sail at burrum and did scare me a bit with the tides, hope I will be used to it by next year.
hey Ross,
thanks so much, great to see you up there. definitely can be intimidating at first because the sailing area looks so big and it's hard to know where the sand banks are when blasting.
i'll see if it's possibe to organise another oct/nov wanderers trip there for the northerlies. at least get those that are keen back up there for some fun.
The yellow Koncept and the Darth Vader helmet is me , the second photo is Kelly (Ka72) and I ,a bit unfair as I'm on a 8.5 and Kelly is on a 6.5 I think
I'm on a 7.3 in that photo Kato, used the 6.6 the day prior. Not sure who is on the Gaastra? Geoff Ringe is on the Pryde sail in the photo with Tibor, Dennis Winstanley on the one design. Not sure who is on the Red KA?
