Dang!
She's gone (and in Jurien) they might start to pop up now, I'll keep looking.
Good value for 2200.
Cheers Ballast
You have been stalking me for over a year
yep I've lost the plot
A good NEer can fix anything.
Yes , you are right, they are definitely the biggest in the fleet.....wait..you are talking about length, width and thickness ??

LOL your talking about the race board class !
Can anyone tell me what is optimum centreboard angle for beating upwind. Mine stops at about 90deg to bottom of the hull.
90 degrees is probably good start - may come down to individual lighter guy will rake back earlier as wind increases.
sorrY i don't have link but the video with Nick Bez addresses it and seems to be find the right balance between rounding up and railing

Come on, they are good boards but as yet they have not achieved capability of human speech.

The Windsufering committee ratify new rules that disqualify racers who bang the corners.
New member FTY was unable to gain any support for a proposal to increase the size of the wally sail from 5.5m to 11.0

:))))
FTY happy to have 11m limit return to foil racing 2022
LOL
It would more appropriate if you put up pictures of sail boards boys !
if only you put the same amount of effort of discrediting the Wally class into other forms of sail boarding !!!
To compare the Wally class to the laser Class , not bad as they both have large fleets and are accessible
to the masses !!!
Obviously large fleet racing at club racing is not your thing !
LOL

We had the best midwinter Windsurfer Class Regatta since 1983 on the Swan River in Western Australia out of Mounts Bay Sailing Club (MBSC) on Sunday 27 June 2021 in testing and gusty 14-28 knot winds. There were a massive 23 entrants which is good for 2021 standards. MBSC provided world class race management and apres race celebrations for the competitors.
Next event, the Australian Master Games Windsurfer Class regatta in October at MBSC is going to be awesome. We are looking forward to a big entry register. Windsurfer Class is the only windsurfing event and I note also there are no foilers nor kiters in the AMG events sadly so Windsurfer Class is a great thing for windsurfing. Already we have some top eastern states Windsurfer class stars heading over so the expectation is very high as we get closer. There is still time to get into the class for the event and battle it out on one design equipment to see who is the best sailor in Australia. The only test is your sailing skills. Are you ready, willing and able ?

A really nice shot below courtesy of Lindsay Preece of Ironbark Photography. We love his work. Quite a few hundred even thousand windsurfer boards passed under those bridges in the background in the 1980s in racing events. A few comments about the shot, for now follow. "Battle of boards here in Windsurfer Class Midwinter WA Championship action at MBSC, Perth WA. Noel Lacey (224) being chased on the downwind leg by former MBSC club champion Mark Taylor (229) and Gordon Salvage (363) ex South African Olympic team member. Another top flight South African LT sailor Ian Murray (305) is crossing over also in relentless hot pursuit of this close to leading pack up the windward leg. WA legend and States Midwinter Windsurfer Class champion Jay Wild (176) displays perfect railing trim upwind in winds of up to 28 knots in one of his 6 bullet race wins on Sunday at MBSC to take out the title. Jay did so by dominating the very tough, competitive and brave field in the cold, wet, gusty and windy event. This is Sparta !
Love the imagination! I do it as well! Idoit haha. Why the agro boys? Windsurfing is awesome - regardless of our fav ride! The worlds oldest windsurfer lives here in NSW at a grand age of 84 and regularly competes on his LT! The Victorians in particular have a very strong youth fleet but there are a scattering of awesome youth sailors all over Aus and internationally. Many of them also sail other classes incl foiling. Many of our regular National and international fleet have been champions in surf sailing, raceboarding and other classes and regularly foil.
Being able to sail with large fleets and socialise afterwards with a bunch of likeminded souls is truly awesome - 50% fun 50% competition! We sail in a huge wind range and often get very competitive with Raceboards once the wind gets up to 20+knots. It is challenging and windsurfing in its most pure form, unrestricted by feet placement in straps, rigorous decisions on what rig to choose etc. One board, one sail and hit the water regardless of wind strength.
The LT is both a one design class and an ideal gateway to get more people into our sport! Some will stay on with one design, some will advance to one of the many variations of our sport with the multitude of options out there! Our class is doing great work in bringing new blood into our sport with a very affordable setup - much cheaper than (generally) anything else on the market. The LT has also brought many older sailors out of their loungeroom and back on the water once again. Plenty of those have started foiling as well, this benefits the whole industry and the retailers who keep our sport alive.
have your fun on your forums but remember windsurfers do it standing up! Give it a go, you may just surprise yourself!

Wallys did it first! And are still doing it.
Australia is just one of dozens of nations embracing Windsurfer. We also have numerous Past and Present World Champions, something we should all be proud of. Don't forget it was an Aussie Windsurfing legend and champion in various disciplines, Bruce Wylie from Lake Macquarie who led in the innovation and design of the new concept of old school windsurfing and introduced the world to a reborn Windsurfer with the LT.

Nice comments from Al everyone needs to lighten up and be nicer to each other for sure, positivity goes a long way. Another shot of Jay Wild (176) sailing to victory in the recent Windsurfer Midwinters. Interestingly, Jay was 13th in the Ledge to Lancelin 1989 and first junior on slalom gear then. Jay's windsurfing career is hitting new highs see: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Western-Australia/Ledge-to-Lancelin-1989?page=1#lastpost. Jay is an outstanding sailor on any craft who dominated the Windsurfer Class Midwinters here on Sunday in atomic gusty freezing, wet winds of 14-28 knots. Also pictured is former Sydneysider Noel Lacey (224) another legend who windsurfs and kites on various craft. All love the one design racing of the LT which intensifies life and it is the fastest growing sailing class in the world. Photo courtesy of Lindsay Preece of Ironbark Photos-thanks Lindsay. See you all at the Australian Master Games in October at MBSC..it is going to be awesome.
LOL play nice to a stalker and a guy who clearly has problems with the Lt .
kidding me lol
that stalker will get he's !
There are so many miss truths being spread around about the Lt it's not funny !
The Lt was invited to the youth champs and started with the bic techno's which had two entrants, they got a flogging !
I know it wasn't blowing over 20 kts but bic techno's don't race in that because average Johnny can't get around the course !
I would love to put some pics up but that stalker creeps me out !
btw we get more entrants in a club race than the other classes combined at the Nats !
we have built a safe haven for our youth at PYC and if you are not prepared to get a working with children card we don't want you !!

Your green thumbs are more concerning !
Maybe this topic should be renamed " Is Windsufering the best thing that ever happend to LT windsurfing -- or has he ruined it".
I think its time to put this topic to bed.
