How many people have been killed or badly injured doing GPS speedsailing?

from old age.

That'd be better than dying on shore from old age.

I don't know if your question is serious or you are taking the piss.
Assuming the former, anecdotally I am not aware of any deaths since I joined 5 years ago.

It was as serious (or as much of a piss-take) as your claim that you need big cahounas for GPS speedsailing.

Interesting news from the Youth Worlds - Nicolo Renna, Windsurfer One Design racer (3rd in the 2015 Italian Lightweight nationals), scored a silver in the RSX to go with his win in the 2018 European Techno 293 championships.

A few decades on, the whole sport has gone in a circle, and Cesare is still in Torbole and smiling. Nice one!

I get the sense that you have not read all 200 responses....which is OK ..it is the same board.

Who's going up for the all boats regatta at Lake Cootharaba this weekend?
Anyone keen to try out their new LT's?
Any raceboards going?
I haven't been paying attention, so wasn't expecting it.

FYI just over a month away from the opening competition for the 2018 - 2019 Season in NSW

Gosford Sailing Club, October Long Weekend!

2 1/2 days of competition, fun and games and a chance to enjoy some good times with likeminded sailors and the family.

There will be the opportunity to enjoy a few activities (not just windsurfing) close to shore so the spectators can join in and have a few laughs!

Rhe raceboarders are kicking off their season with the first heat of their series at Gosford so expect some serious competition.

just awaiting some final confirmations keep an eye out on Windsurfing NSW, this thread, Windsurfer Class and Raceboards Class for more updates and notice of race, registration details.

Chris, I didn't bite after your response, because danger and associated courage, is very individual. However Detlev's recent narrative below, comes very close to what I was alluding to.

That's a nice write-up, but honestly, it still doesn't really seem that GPS speedsailing needs bigger kahunas than lots of other ways to sail.

seems to me in a cold winter westerly ,as described in the write up, they would be the opposite of big
