Fell of gybe in shallow water. Rig did full windmill (downwind, low, upwind up, slam to windward) without me holding onto it. It came down on my head....

worried about going bald now - nurse who did stitches seemed pretty competent though

So pom - do you wear a helmet now? Just curious. I've recently bought my second helmet after the one previously was split straight down the middle by a mast in gusty conditions - no damage to head thankfully as I was about 500m offshore in a storm.

I've been fortunate injury-wise. A few sprained ankles, cut feet (no stitches needed), callouses and many sore muscles. Probably the worst affected have been my toes from frantically smashing into footstraps - they've taken on the appearance of feet of an arthritic 90y/o woman!

Not much in the way of hero injuries here. Nearly all dufus stuff.

Where are all those popped ear drums from double forwards and stuff like that?

Snapped a tendon in my big toe going waaaay too high trying a Shaka on the way out at Coros (thanks albentley)

Whole foot swelled up - I genuinely thought I'd broken something significant. Decided I'd leave it a day or two and then deal with hospital when I got back to Perth. By that time the swelling was going down and I could kind of hobble on it so didn't bother, and a week later noticed that I had no "grip" capability.

Strangely it hasn't impacted my sailing or surfing. That could just be a damning indictment of my skills though...
