A dream in the making?
With the magnificent help and support of the mighty Inverloch Windsurfing Club, Spotty, Jacques and myself are gearing up to go to Luderitz this year as a Victorian Speedsailing Team to check out the canal and see what we can do.
The club committee has helped us set up a website blog where we intend to chronicle our Journey and we hope to take many of you along with us.

Cheers, Andrew Daff
Fantastic! Congratulations and I'm sure all of us in Australia will be keenly following, and just a tad jealous. Good for you
onya Andrew your a LEDGEND out of interest how many over 60's are there in the competition just a guestimate will be close enough
Cool webpage guys.
Finally got confirmation yesterday of my entry for weeks 5 & 6.
Queensland will also have a representative.
Great stuff Mick. Good insight into the Team, what their goals are and how they are going about achieving them. I wonder if the overseas boys are checking out what is happening?
Hi Andrew,
Sounds like a great trip! My wrist has been pretty dodgy off and on since I broke it in the big moutain bike stack last year. Ive been cautious about giving it a real session in case I bugger it up again and miss another 12 weeks off work. it is almost back to normal and about to get onto the water proper again.. I've even emailed to see if there's any spots left at Luderitz ... If they are obliging( not confident) there might be an extra Aussie over there too......
Hi Tony. I wondered why we have not seen you in action for so long. It would be great to see you in Luderitz breaking that 50 knots barrier!
Hi Daffy,
Be interested to know what sails are you taking over there, are you going for smaller and more efficient or go big tuck the balls in and pray you can hold on. first option I guess maybe 4 sails 4.2, 4.6, 5.0, and 5.4,
will you have 014 Koncepts by then or will you have some protos like that orange 5.0 I seen you have last time you where here sailing with me at george.
I like the way ka actually have smaller speed sails under 5.0 for the smaller guys most of the other brands don't seem to want to cater for the smaller blokes or us older crew just wanting to be in control and be able to sail all day and not hanging on for dear life.
Hi Jamie. Thats just about it. 4.2 to 5.4 should cover it nicely. :-)
We are planning to have 2014 sails but then, even if they are pre-production samples or Protos. It will be an interesting dilemma if I have not had a good chance to test the 2014 sails before we go. Do I risk it with them or stick to what I know?
It also depends on what sort of deal we can get on freight. Good deal = take more options.
I am trying to get my thoughts down on this a bit more on the VSST blog. http://victorianspeedsailing.com/
Should be up later today or this evening.
