GPS Display Maximum Speed: 45.6 knots

Conditions: ~10'C, Squalls, Rain, Hail, Sand, Sun, Rainbows

Where you sailed (Code ok for secret spots):Sandy Point

Equipment: CA44, Kassy21, 5.8Kcpt

Details about Self: Unfit, overweight, taking it easy in the waist harness.

Comments: My fastest run of the day felt the slowest, it was in the bigger 35' squall with rain, hail & sand belting me hard in the right eye. I had to close it and couldn't see much further than 40-50ft with left eye, it felt too sketchy with my vision/balance impaired so sheeted out a little and went survival mode, all was feeling neutral and slow. Pulled up and and had a 45.6pk and 44.4 10sec Freaky!!! Adrian who went moments earlier in the squall noted a similiar experience, felt slow yet fast. We were literally sucked along without having to fight or lean back into it.

Looking at the track log I was still accelerating when I went to slow down thinking that it was a poor run DopMax45.9, arrghh!

Thanks David. I had to have a break during one of the bigger squalls. I was quite worried that my board was going to take off and fly up over the road. Next time, we're off to the battleship!

Nah mate, I didn't get out today, I was out yesterday with David. But yes, I normally launch next to the Club albeit on the eastern side of it. There's a nice grassy knoll to rig up on. Rumour has it JFK was shot from there

Some good speeds - but surely 10-17 knots of wind isn't classified as a storm!
