Feedback on the New Delta XT: The most noticeable difference is the increased grip this allows the use of up to 3cm smaller fin than the original delta. Guys have gone out at Budgie with a 16cm Delta XT on a 90l slalom board with a 7m Race sail and had more grip than they got on the 19cm Delta they would normally use, This allows them to access the really flat shallow weedy spots at budgie which is particularly shallow and weedy at the moment.

The increased grip is also felt in rougher water with the fin holding in and having the ability to be pushed on the fin.

Another point noticed was that it doesn't change the trim of the board much, compared to conventional weed fins.

The reduction rake has not been too big an effect on the ability to spill weed once planning the weed slides off. It is a bit harder to get going in the thicker weed spots and there is a little bit of a tug as there is with the original delta when sailing over thicker patches of weed. I think the increased rake at the tip of the fin helps to encourage the weed to slide off.

Now we just need the strong westerlies to start to see how fast it will go.

Due to the success so far of the Delta XT 16 MUF will be producing a Delta XT 14 should be a great option for speed boards and getting into the shallowest weediest spots.

MUF has just informed me they will be adding a Delta XT 15 to the available Delta XT sizes. This is due to the demands from the Danish Shallow water speed spot.

Now we are starting to get some wind at Budgie with its extremely thick weed currently it is good to see the Delta XT is starting to show what it can do. Johnny using a Delta XT 20 got 37.827 Knots think that might be the current PB for a Delta XT. I think he would have gone faster on a Delta XT 18 but he was to stoked with the 20 to change.

Matt did 39.431 Knots on a 100 L freeride board today using a Delta XT 18.

So the Delta XT is not a slow fin. Can't wait to see how fast a Delta XT 16 will go in a speed board and hopefully soon when the 15 and 14 Delta XT's become available.
