Looks like most of the new sandy beach has blown up onto the lawn in the park. Went sailing with my mates at Vicci today. Where was everone? Wind was light and marginal, too buggered to sail mon after a big day at Sandstone sun.
water a bit cloudy so made sure not to fall in. Water is getting warmer. Might just be the fermenting dog turds washed into the bay after the weekend....

Hi Pete and gang?? Haven't sailed for a long time due to health reasons, back, bronchitis and now eye cataract. But will get back to it hopefully in about a month. Been past VP and looks ok but pity about the sand. Hope you get some more SE'ly soon (and someone to sail with....) Cheers

Big day Sunday, great to see all the old faces and a few new ones. Especially two children braving the conditions and really flying through the chop. A couple of old timers (me included ) coming back from illness. I counted 10 sailors out plus a couple on the beach. The sand placed on the beach has blown up and formed to dunes on the lawn and now there are rocks everywhere on the beach thanks to the half-a-job done by council on the pipework. I bit of concrete wouldn't have cost that much especially in the long run. I think maybe we could all give them a call and see what happens?

Had a short session today I started late but was really pleased to see four or five children sailing and the oldest was about 10. They were out there having a great time. Gives us hope for the future!

If the weather stays good there will be 8 kids tomorrow.
2 locals and 6 from Gold Coast. Youngest just turned up 8 and oldest is 11 yo. They can't get enough of windsurfing.

Nash, Alex and all the kids were amazing! Our sport's in good hands for the future if these kids stay with it, and there were some real speedsters out there yesterday...great work.

It happened, 8 kids having a smile on their faces despite not the best weather.
Going from planning wind to nothing, to a little bit a more, and then rain with some wind for change. They went back sailing in pretty heavy rain as it was accompanied by 16 knots wind. I could see ALL KIDS improving so much today, jibing, free style, planning ...
Ava had her first day on her 55cm wide board and did really well, especially in that light wind.
It was great to see kids practising jibing and passing experience to each other. There are great days ahead.
Thanks to all parents for all the support .

Nice to meet everyone over the last few weeks. Thanks for the tips today. They certainly improved my low-wind gybing beyond words. So simple when it's all explained . Might even look into patching the old WindAction board before it totally falls apart on me

Wow what a day yesterday! 20 odd knots in the gusts and a big crowd out.
Low water which kept the chop low and the kids were flying!!!
The carpark was so full and as I arrived a bit late and had to park around the corner..
Quite a few learners both old and young braving the conditions too.
Jinxy spent most of his time in the air and I noticed a couple of others in the air but not on purpose!!
i had to leave early and didn't even have time to say gooday Or take a pic

Kids had a great day on Saturday. Sailing for nearly 3 hours on their slalom gears. Quite challenging early when the chop was still pretty high and wind strong. Saw them having a few take offs in the gusts.... but all good. No casualties and good exposure to not so easy conditions at high speed.

BTW we found quite an old North 460cm mast laying under the tree. It's a 3 piece mast. Please let me know if you know who is missing one. I took it home as we were the last one leaving the place. You can text me on 0412 020 490.

Thanks Justin, yes they are pretty fast for their young age.
We are looking forward to see Nash joining the pack. I'm sure he'll love it, he is so close.... When I saw him on Saturday on small board, it reminded me our kids about 3 months ago. Exactly the same issues and struggles.

yeah the 65lt board was a good test for him. whilst he got it going towards the end of the session it helped him realise he's a little back foot heavy after getting used to the flare. but he has a good 25+ board sorted. i wasnt sure he would even get it going.

i picked up that 85lt jp freestyle wave from the sumny coast we talked about. now he has something in between for the 15-20 days. i also ordered a 3.8m severne redback for him that will be here in september.

we've been looking at his stance and head position in the bathroom mirror so everything is moving forward for him.

thompsons has been super flat lately. kinda no point in going to sandstone.

we're keeping an eye on mooloolaba forecasts too.

Had a good time in the rain today at O'Hallorans. Not too windy, but a bit of a laugh when the rain came in, and LOTS of rain came in.
