the focus lock works really well. (thanks haircut) normally when i take photos of guys a long way away i get a lot of blurred images as i can't keep the camera still enough to hit the small target regularly. not anymore. 
these images were taken in full auto and i heavilly editted them to get a cold stark look.
considering it was blowing 30 knots and i was handheld and shivering from the cold i'm really happy with the results. must remember to clean the filters next time.
