looking ahead to the weekend of the 12-13th for our winter meet. long range shows an outside chance so if it doesn't happen we will look to the following weekend.

sweet, we will see how the weather plays out.

the long range models are indicating an upper trough (i think) wedged between to highs.

usually with that setup the predictions change daily.

I don't believe it. Do you go to Bongaree?

i was shocked too glen! everyone should sail wello in a westerly at least once.

my gut feel is though that it won't be the weekend of the 12-13th. forecasts are pointing towards a very large high starting to dominate things with SE winds.

i'm currently looking into a plan b just in case.

unfortunately shearwater has the wrong tide

on the table are.

suttons, VP or the train as a just in case plan but wello is the goal.

this weekend is not looking like a goer for wello westerlies and the foecast is for 15 knots or so.

the following weekend is looking very nice though for wello, it's an early call but i would suggest we are more than likely going to postpone to the following weekend. i will update around thu/fri

You should move the meet to green island this weekend, looks like a ripper,

u got it back to front. Shearwater is perfect on the weekend. Low at about 3.30 - 4pm which makes it comfortably sailable from about 10.30am till 5pm

So does SW work best with out going tide or is the wind against tide effect which works best Never sailed there although rigged a 4.4 late after work once only to have the wind drop back to 15-20kn

Good forecast as well for Sunday, though as usual, it's still changing every 5 mins.
Chatting to wifelet about this. Usual issues with SW, no toilets etc.
Bribie would probably be good again, with the current forecast. Was there a BBQ issue there, can't remember ?

u could pick up some blue doggiepoo bags from the train on your way up

QLandr - yes shearwater is good when wind-against-tide in either direction. there are more options locally on a northerly wind with flatter water, but in a southerly the shearwater is about the best option for good wind if W.A.T

i must have buggered up the dates with the tide......

if the forecast stays put shearwatrer or redcliffe are the best options as they aren't a problem at low tides.

we just need the forecast to stay put!

I'm quite keen, and Shearwater is obviously not too far for me too.
Really depends on if the forecast holds up or does it's familiar dead cockroach trick.

i'm leaning towards shearwater also, the wanderers haven't had a meet there yet and it's been a while since we've headed to the goldy.

Currently bribing the Goddess with idea of having other shutterbugs to gossip with, and things to take pics of. Don't normally need to bribe, but since I'm leaving for MAui on Monday, I have to do a bit here.
What time did you have in mind ? The other meets have been afternoons, but I'm used to winter wind being better earlier. I don't have experience with Shearwater at this time of year though. Definitely still a newb here.
