I'm not really sure what that means? I can't handle sailing on my own? If that's what it does in fact mean, well, in wollongong there are 3 wave sailors (that I know of). We try to sail together as often as possible but life etc gets in the way. I would say I sail on my own 75% of the time. Not really sure how that bears much relevance whatsoever though.

I believe "Wollongong" is Aboriginal for "skinny white fellas that sail alone".

...or possibly "George, get your lazy arse to the nth side of town for once".

Hahah too true.

But I guess in George's defense when you have Windang and Warilla at your doorstep there is little incentive to venture else where. Not sure how well Windang would go these says will small surf though. Epic fail at a guess...could be wrong.

no.. you can just not spots that aren't well known is the point. those spots are all really well known. **** flat rock has a camp ground there.
and crowding isn't really an issue on the east coast where no one sails, and you don't have half the windsurf world migrating every summer.

annnnnnnd 25min out of margs is ages it's another town, and 6m walls are bull **** becuase while the place you talk about needs a big swell it doens't mean the wave is 18ft. are you sure you didn't mean 6ft

Does indeed look good. Could be an epic weekend if the forecast is right.

I thought windang was a 'shhhhoooooosssshhhh' it's a secret spot.

Seriously though, Definitely looking good for the weekend.
Would be good to get a few pics if possible.
Just sailing shots though... nothing that gives the location away

how are you going to do that? I thought you always sail alone up your way...
... plus given the direction and size of the swell we can expect I would say Birubi will be plenty scary. Ooops... forgot I wasn't supposed to mention any secret spots. Kev, I hope your local spot now won't be overrun with people.

I meant hopefully the guys down Windy way would be able to take some shots.
The ones taken and uploaded last week were great.. and given the anger levels bouncing around the forums -due to distinct lack of wind and waves.... and some nutter naming every secret spot between here and Darwin[}:)]...any wave sailing shots may help temper a few posters suffering from the no wind blues.

With the swell and wind direction Birubi will be a washing machine... and as for sharing it.
I'd love to see a few more crew sailing up this way regularly... reduces the Great Whites to Sailors ratio from the current 20 to 1

Spring is here... roll on summer !

Nobbys reef in Newcastle aint no secret spot....probably the most consistent and best reefs in Aust for sailing. Its port tack too, so i welcome all WA sailors to come and sail it. More the merrier i reckon.

Yer good stuff mate, holds the swell 99% of the time, and it can get a good consistent wave from 2 foot to over mast high and still have a way out the back, and i think it got a better finishing section after the ugly big boat got dragged of it. if it's a south swell and solid NEster it can real put a smile on your face, in a E/NE swell only a few guys can ride there well, like MA and Grumbles.
