Yeah I am aware of that I meant with carbon tissue - about 20gm/m2 - couple of layers of that in between the two d'cell layers and reserve all that good heavy carbon and glass for the deck

Windy the fins are from the US of A. I designed them and then got them cnc routed in the states(Oregon) for the quads I went a flatter less draggy profile, I've got 2 spare sets.
But your boards are twins

A couple of years ago I designed some twin fins (see pic below) I got made up some super flexy tip ones for sails 5.3m and below and some stiffer tip ones with a bit better bottom end for sails above 5.3m and bigger guys, I have great feedback from guys who have tried the flexi tip ones
I like that semi-weed fin leading edge at the base. No need to change fins if it is weedy = versatile.
I was using a *board Quad in WA and its fins slipped over cray lines without any trouble..
But normally I jump in and tie the excess line in a bundle, if it's a problem pot..
Step one can be a as many loops as you like.. Just pull in as much line as you want and tie off.. Problem solved.

What toe did you end up going for? Are the sidebiters symmetrical foil?

Also on those G10 fins, can you buy sheets of G10 in Australia? I had a look on google but didn't get far. CJW is going to cut me some fins on his CNC thingi but we need something to mill.
@mahi despite what the boards forum crew say, I have my own ideas on toe in. I didn't toe the front fins in. As I sail in cross onshore conditions I wanted the fins to be parrallel and give me that extra bit of drive. I found with fins in this angle and a fast flat tail that the top turn then becomes stiffer and harder to turn. So I put a bit of tail kick to help with the top turn. If I was making a down the line board where I didn't want so much drive and wanted to maintain the looseness I would have toed the front fins in and left the tail flatter and faster, pulled the tail outline in and made other alterations to the vee and concaves.
@barn yeah I was being patient I could have taken it out earlier on not so good days but I wanted a few good epic days in a row, and wanted to compare it to my twin it is replacing... hint hint ... shameless plug for bargain board

Yeah I used to like the boards forum for their technical discussions, but a few of them are so anal, fanatical and obsessive compulsive I think it's part of their nature and make up in some of those precision structured Euro countries or too much spare time on their hands. There are countless threads were the same people keep saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over again and again and again and again ZZZZzzzzz
You can buy G10 sheets here, look for electrical transformer people, circuit board stuff is the same but waaay thinner and they use 10mm and 15mm etc G10 in big big setups.

Of course you can make it with a sh!tload of squares of cloth, steel mould and resin and bung it all in a mechanic's bearing press (bottle jack in a frame) so it sets under 5 tonnes of weight
Just not the heat cure, but it would be a pretty damn good layup and a fun project
Fun project? Sorry Mark, there's nothing fun about laying up a schit load of glass ,pressing it all up and then having to grind it all in to a fin shape.

This has brought life to my 101l 2009 JP FSW proedition- now a very suitable low wind range wave board. I got this out for the first time this week and i am very happy with the turn ability on a wave and the pickup speed was not much affected- it is also very comfortable on the plane and during gybe (better than the single fin- so much actually falling in on a few gybes as turning quicker!)
I did make a couple of small stuff ups which i would not make on a redo. Purely due to first time working with carbon fibre and epoxy.
I have included a series of shots- which were step by step ish.....
I was surprised to little carbon fiber the JP actually has in it- my fin boxes will wreck any rocks it my come in contact with!
I got my measurements by doing a scaled break down of the new JP board and working out fin position. I then gave it a 2mm toe in on the fins. I have used an old freestyle fin as my central which worked well and the fins are off my twin fin- will get a good fin set as i now have confidence in the job. So current fins are 11cm outers and 14 cm central.
I have done a final paint job since last photos as matched colors as close as i could- but considering this board was almost a right off after a knee threw deck on about third use (yes expensive depreciation $3000 + to zero in just two months)- now that i have seen the carbon content i am not surprised!

p.s one of his challenges was to try a forward loop with the boobs on- he did try- new definition to face first airbag landing
