I seem to remember SSD posting some very negative comments on twin fins I got the impression he was a pure thruster man, using special assym foiled side fins with no drag.

Really keen to hear from someone who has tried the RRD wavetwin.

First time I saw the shapes I thought they would be the ones. Would love to try one but unfortunately no demos in WA (please correct me if I'm wrong!)

Seem to have fared well in the mag reviews too.

Hard to believe them, seems like they're all sponsored by RRD

I have had the chance to try the 68, 76 & 84L JP pro Twinsers now and I have to say that they are amazing. I know this sounds like a pitch but the 68 and 74 are an absolute dream to ride. They are balanced so well, my bottom turns have become smooth and my top turns now whip round effortlessly.

They are not as fast on the wave as the single but thats fine for me - I think its actually a bonus for me as I always out run the wave anyway and disappear down the beach.

I first thought the hype was about selling boards - but I would go out and get one of these boards or at least try one. These boards fixed some of my problems on waves instantly. These shapes are the next evolution they won't go back to the old shapes in my humble opinion.

They absolutely rip!

Haha - yeah - that was pretty funny during the nationals. Bloody embarrassing for me!

But in my defense I couldn't tack up - my forearm was only out of plaster for 4 days. My wrist was so damn stiff I couldn't hold the sail in enough.

I think I pissed the judges off a bit with that .....Hahah .. this year we will have the judges sit on the back of a tray back 4wd so they can follow me down the beach at 60Km/hr! : )

I just used the 6,5" that came with it. I haven't experimented with the fins yet. Do you use other fins with your gear?

Does the looseness of the ride increase the more you move the fins forward with twins?

yea they loosen up like a single fin when you put them foward and a bit drivier when put back. Ive been riding the 76 with 6"mfc fins the last couple of times, Ive found it doesnt make too much difference, maybe a little looser. been too preoccupied with finding the difference between the left and right fin ( the mfc fins are marked L and R but I cant for the life of me see a difference between the two)
Finally got to ride in some cross on conditions as well last night (we sailed for an hour in the dark, due to the fact the southerly didnt hit til 630). They rip for frontside riding in cross on as well, not sure if it was due to the smaller arc on the bottom turn or what, but definately dont loose as much speed as a single fin during the bottom turn and seem to come back around the topturn in alot more normal fashion than Ive found single fins to do as well. I felt like matt holder riding crosson, it was great. Im more than sold on the twinnies now for cross off, cross, and cross on.

Have any of you experimented with moving only one of the fins forward or back?
