Fremantle was rocking harder than when it hosted the Americas Cup. Just imagine what it will be like if Freo win the GF
an extra tack, and USA still stays in front.....arghhhh!
eek...why did kiwis gybe away from USA half way down leg 4 when they were about to fly past them and could have kept the same air?
Does anyone know how close they got to the 40min cut off before they crossed the finish line. I had them at seconds going from when the commentators mentioned 9 min to go.
Harrow
I think the kiwis were sailing too deep to continue that line when they came together although it did look like they were going to take it.
Ted,
Nervous? There appears to be a momentum shift.
Looks like I'm gonna be late to work today.
Who decides on the sail camber and setting during the race?
Nervous - for sure. Still a few races to go but there boat look at least as good as ours now and Sir Ben is the master he is making all the right calls everytime. There is a reason he has won 4 golds medals and its clear to see. We are still in this but I do not feel very comfortable at all.
Re the race time - on youtube coverage it was spoken about at 9mins like you said but then it became a little one sided
We seem to be doing better today on these upwind legs but they are so superior on the downwind leg....
8-5 now.
Oracle have had 3 of the last 4 port entry, tomorrow we get 2. Surely we must get some luck at some stage, no races have been called off when they are in front. 3 of ours have been !! The gods are certainly not smiling on us right now.
Thanks Ted. I've just found

For when the video feed won't work. Or as they've explaned it's 8:7 if you count the 2 penalties. It's getting interesting again.
What a turn around. Nobody could have imagined a better scenario than what's being played out.
As Ted mentioned, nz with port entry tomorrow which may finally see some luck going their way.
Larry may need to take his boat off Seabreeze buy and sell
To value add to the event what you need to do is turn the sound down on your live video feed and listen to the NZ radio station. The postmortem is still going on, don't mention the c_ _ _ _ _ _ word on talkback radio!

Seven letter word starting with C??? I can only think of a four letter word
Ah just got it.....chokers or choking. Shades of RWC 91, 95, 99, 03, 07....and almost 11
They'll do it - they're just stringing it out.
Going to be honest here, I think OTUSA now have the faster boat in most situations and have the superior tactical brains of Slingsby and Ainsley. Combine that with a super aggressive Spithill at the start and ETNZ are in big big trouble. All I can say is they better make the port starts tomorrow count or I reckon they can kiss this cup goodbye, I don't think they could mentally recover.
I also think that if they don't clinch the first race tomorrow those voices will start popping up "well we won more races, if we didn't get docked those two points the cup would have been ours"....
C'mon ETNZ bloody smash them already.
na the fat cats have weighed into the equation...
they know NZ has it sown up so to prolog the regatta and subsequent profits, the appropriate adjustments have been made...?
saw an interview with john Bertrand tonight. he said he felt a nationality clause would be introduced at the next Americas cup regatta to try and bring the sport back to country v country. suggested maybe a 50% minimal crew of origin.

Why only 50%? Surely as long as you can find financial backing, a country is capable of putting together at least one decent boat crew??? Why do corporations have to rule everything?
yeah I agree. should be nation versus nation.
I guess the downside is when a nation doesn't field a boat due to cost.

Yeh, the US could still roll out Dennis Connor, he's only 71, he can still steer a boat.
Oracle are just too good it looks like....great team work and decision making. A well polished boat and team sadly.
